About this location

Ola! Welcome to my beautiful place in the middle of nature. Where crickets and frogs and birds make their voices heard. My name is Annemieke and I bought this land in May 2023 to start a self-sustaining off-grid life, in the middle of Portuguese nature. On the land there are olive trees, cork trees, lots of lavender, broom, a variety of flowers and plants, enjoy it! Now, in July 2023, I am in the initial phase of building all of this. The lovely shower and toilet are available, and we will soon start construction of the indoor and outdoor kitchen. There is already a temporary outdoor kitchen, minimal, but workable. You can cook and wash dishes there. Even though the facilities are not yet completely complete, camping is already enjoyable for people who are self-sufficient.
About 10 minutes from my quinta is the beautiful Lake Maratekka, where you can cool off and swim, canoe and fish.
A 2-minute drive from here is a natural fountain, for wonderfully fresh spring water to fill your tank. Just an 8 minute drive away is the Intermarché with a place to throw away the gray water.
I can guarantee that you can completely relax here. Whether you want to be on your own or are looking for some fun, you can be who you are here. The atmosphere is open and cozy, you can relax in nature and there is plenty to do in the area. The mountains are an hour's drive away, where you can take beautiful walks.
Castelo Branco is less than fifteen minutes away, with nice restaurants and cafes, and supermarkets
My country is still a kind of blank canvas. I have a lot of great ideas, but I also really enjoy hearing other people's ideas. I have a few cozy seating areas with a view, but I still want to make pergolas (with natural foliage), plant fruit trees, make a pond, create a vegetable garden, cozy spots, domes, all kinds of things.
If you would like to camp in nature, then come and visit us, we would like to welcome you! Sometimes Google Maps wants to send you down a dead end, don't do this. Then drive a little further towards Cafede. At the intersection of the road you have to drive to my hatchery, there is a very large Agave plant. If you see it, you can take that road, then drive all the way to the end, the road will automatically lead you to the right place. See you soon!

My name is Annemieke, originally a social worker from Holland. I bought this land (4.2HA) in april 2023. My dream is to build here a centre for young people with mental health issues, to bring them back to nature, and give them the perfect environment to heal from trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, etc. and find their true, powerful self! Having a daily routine again, many things to do on the farm (grow food, taking care of animals, help building, enjoy creating beautiful things, etc) , will help with the healing process. My idea is to organize sometimes small markets, outside movie nights, small musical events, once a week shared meal with the guests, and have a lot of 'gezelligheid' and fun. It's great when the moments of connection with guests can be the alternated with the opportunity to find rest, peace and quiet in nature. There's a lot that needs to be build, created and grown, but I'm already on the right track! This place is already been a healing place for many people. I love to have deep conversations, but also I love to have a good laugh and fun! So feel welcome and I hope to see you soon!
