Bischwind am Raueneck is a small idyllic village in the Hassberge Nature Park. Many hiking trails and castle ruins can be found in the immediate vicinity. To the historical half-timbered town Königsberg i. Bavaria it is approx.7 Km distance. The cities of Ebern & Hofheim about 10 km, Bamberg about 35 km, Coburg about 30 km, Basilica Vierzehnheiligen & Banz Monastery about 35 km away. In the village there is an excellent restaurant with local specialties as well as an inn.
The Haßberge are considered to be the German Castle Corner, which is also referred to by the logo of the nature park. It is characterized by mixed forest, numerous streams, grassland, dry biotopes as well as old vineyards. 20 prehistoric castles and ramparts, 15 castles and castle ruins as well as 26 castles are located in the area of the nature park and are made accessible by a castle and palace hiking trail ( source: Wikipedia) .In the village there is a bakery with traditional farmhouse bread, as well as fresh eggs. At the house of the landlord is a kiosk attached in which there are fresh baked goods, coffee, etc. on weekends.
