You can relax freely in the 1 hectare orchard located within 27 hectares of meadows, woods and moors, far from busy roads. You can choose the proximity of the buildings for more comfort (electricity, toilets, kitchen, barbecue) or choose a more isolated location to enjoy the wide open spaces and the panorama. The heather moorland landscapes are home to remarkable fauna and flora (butterflies, birds, small mammals, European pond turtles, carnivorous plants, etc.) and the place is therefore managed ecologically. You can walk there via the network of paths and trails that wind through (5 km of maintained paths on the property). For longer explorations, you will find a network of paths to set off for half a day or a full day. You will then discover the magnificent turquoise lakes of Guizengeard 5 km away, hike around the Weasel Pond at
Rioux Martin is 10 km away, or in summer, enjoy the cool waters of the Dronne River, 20 km away. You can also join the South Charente mountain bike tour, 5 km away. If you're arriving by bike, I can offer to manage your accommodation if we arrange it in advance.
For more cultural visits, you'll find tours of monolithic churches (Aubeterre, Gurat, Saint Emilion), Romanesque temples and churches with frescoes, castles with drawbridges (Chalais), or dolmens... to discover the history of South Charente and neighboring Haute Saintonge. Several Terra Aventuras tours are available nearby.
The riders' horses are welcomed in the meadow.
Local produce farms, markets and numerous nearby restaurants will also allow you to taste the quality of the local gastronomy.
Camping possible in a wild semi-wooded area far from homes but accessible on foot without electricity or water.
