It was really a great experience to be in Bas camping.

At the beginging i was here for only 1 week but i stayed for 3 weeks because it was so chill and calm.

The camping is at only 15 minutes of bike from the Beverwijk train station so it's easy to go everywhere. (Amsterdam 30min / Harleem 17min / Alkmaar 27 min / Den Haag 60min)

The main place with the sanitary, a couch, free tap water and a washing machine with the soap included is really big, clean, calm and there is even some gym weight dumbbells to do some sports ! The couch is comfy too of you want to read a book or just chill there it's really great. There is an egg vending machine on the front of the camping too so you can get real farm eggs and they are very good. Everything was perfect here and i will probably come back a next time. There is 2 showers but you will never have to wait for them because it's a small camping. I think there are around 15 20 peoples maximum at the same time here. And sometimes even less. Everyone is respectfull so there is no noise trouble in the night or the day. The camping is a no weed smoking zone too so this could be nice if you don't like the smell of it.

How was the contact with the host?
He was always here to help if needed, friendly, come to see everyone to check if everything is ok. clean the sanitary everyday, can give access to an extension cord if needed to get electricity to your tent. Cut the grass every week too. A very good host. He is always around if you have a question or anything to ask.

Tips for new guests?
Come here without hesitation if you like calm and minimalistic camping. It's not for you if you want a luxury setup.

Nice little and quiet place. Outside of the city, therefore no shopping possibilities. Electricity, showers, toilets (even toilet paper), chemical toilets, washing machine and dishwashing facilities available. For us it was crucial that dogs were allowed and so there were many dogs there. Wonderful quiet at night. Rarely slept so well. Gladly again.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good. Short response times via email. Nice, uncomplicated and helpful on site.

The location is excellent: 15 minutes bike to the beach, you are in the middle of nature but in less than half an hour by bike you can reach the train station. The sanitary building is essential but there is everything you’ll need (even a washing machine), everything is included without having to pay extra fees. The campsite is quiet, the pitches are flat and spacious, there is the possibility to buy fresh eggs and tasty cherry tomatoes.  Bas was very kind and helpful.  I had a very good time here

Time stands still at Camping Amsterdam aan Zee. In the first place, it is always there about a quarter to five, judging by the stopped clock in the sanitary room. In addition, the atmosphere and campsite owner Bas are so relaxed that you quickly lose the feeling for the day of the week or the moment of the day.
Located close to a beautiful dune area, there is every opportunity to recover.

How was the contact with the host?
Relaxed, short lines. Bas is friendly, accommodating but also very clear. Very pleasant.

How was the contact with the host?
Super! The first day we found out in the evening that our air mattress was leaking, and the owner had lent us his air mattress and stuff to repair our own air mattress. He was very friendly and very helpful.

Tips for new guests?
Rent a boat in Broek in Waterland. A beautiful and authentic village and not yet touristy. A bit similar to giethoorn.

Bas is a very friendly farmer who certainly tries to make his guests happy. He also sells delicious strawberries by the way. The caravans and motorhomes are here in square form on a beautiful lawn that many football stadiums will be jealous of. The location is very nice, you are in the center of Heemskerk in no time and supermarkets are 1.5 km away. We went for a run to the beach of Wijk aan Zee and that was doable. Showers and toilets were very clean. With a price of just over € 50 per day for a well-equipped and spacious caravan, the price/quality ratio is very good,

How was the contact with the host?
Excellent, Bas is a very friendly man who likes to help people.

This Campspace was different from what my boyfriend and I were used to until now. All the more fun to gain a new experience! Normally we prefer a secluded Campspace in the middle of the woods, but since we only had a short time, we chose a Campspace that was closer to home. This Campspace is a mini-campsite, which means it attracts a diverse crowd – both tents and caravans can be accommodated here. This is definitely fun if you like a chat. The Campspace itself is well maintained and very spacious, which makes it very suitable for (large) families. The host is very welcoming and very helpful; we even got a tour of the whole site. When the weather is bad, or if you don't like camping, you can also rent a mobile home on the site. These are very spacious and well cared for. Close to the entrance are the showers and toilets. These are in a shed – which is very nice when it rains – where there is also a small place to eat or sit (dry). The Campspace is very easy to reach by car and has several parking spaces. With public transport it is a short walk to the nearest bus stop, but that is not a problem. Within a few minutes walking distance you are in the middle of nature and you can walk from the dune reserve to the coast. The area is also very suitable for cycling holidays and is very spacious and relaxing.
In short, this Campspace is ideal for walkers, cyclists or if you just want to get away from it all. Even with bad weather, the Campspace is very nice because of the covered facilities and possible shelter. The site is spacious, so you have plenty of space for your tent or caravan. There is plenty to do in the area and it offers the ideal opportunity to relax.

"Bas is a very friendly host. On arrival we received fresh eggs from the chickens that can scratch around there. A nice place in Heemskerk to park the camper, near a nature reserve and the beach. The toilet block was neat and clean. Nice environment and Bas likes to think along with you. Gasterij Kruisberg is a nice place to visit during a nice walk. Also in April with snow a top place to visit."

Simple farm camping spot. The location is perfect for getting to the sea quickly and very economically. The host is friendly and relaxed. Amenities are basic. We stood on a shell field and that is not convenient, you take it everywhere, especially when it rains. At night there was a lot of noise from heavy planes flying over.

How was the contact with the host?

Tell us about your experience
Bas has a very nice field for campers and caravans (tents are on another field which also looked very nice, with sheep in the back).
The facilities are good: 2 showers, 4 toilets, 2 sinks and a sink for washing dishes.
There were also permanent chalets and caravans on the field for people who will be there permanently or for a longer period of time, which unfortunately did not help the holiday atmosphere. There was also a rather constant urine odor that we couldn't quite figure out where it came from.
We stayed there for two nights and are otherwise satisfied.

How was the contact with the host?
Bas responds fairly quickly and clearly, is friendly and makes sure that everything is in order.

July 2021 · Translated from dutch

Host Bas has responded

Nina unfortunately I also smelled that pungent smell, but I couldn't find where it came from. I now know where it came from (there was a tampon in the scrub well and therefore sewage air could come out of the pipe). Thankfully it has resolved and the smell is gone. Sorry about this. Greetings Bas
