About this location

Our charming stone cabin in Burgundy offers a comfortable alternative to camping. Nestled in the peaceful setting of a Burgundian hamlet, it will charm those who love nature and simplicity. We also welcome pilgrims on the Way of St. James (off the main route) and the Way of St. Francis of Assisi (on the route). In the heart of the Burgundy countryside, our charming hamlet is surrounded by meadows where Charolais cows graze peacefully. The Tour de France will pass just 10 meters from the house on July 16th this year! Le Reuil is twenty minutes from Chalon-sur-Saône and the A6 motorway, as well as the Chalon dans la Rue festival. We are also 50 minutes from the magnificent Azé cave. A 5-minute drive away, you'll find a grocery store where you can find, among other things, delicious Burgundian specialties, and a bread depot. You can also enjoy a warm and welcoming inn, with quality homemade fare. Activities: Numerous hiking trails, including the Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint James of Compostela routes. Greenways and blueways for cycling are a 10-minute drive away in Ecuisses and Buxy. The Chalon dans la Rue festival takes place at the end of July, a 20-minute drive away. The Tour de France will be passing through on July 16, 2026. Wine cellars are a 15-minute drive away in Montagny. Couches Castle is 30 minutes away. The Azé Cave is 50 minutes away.   • We recommend visiting the Château de Germolles as well as that of Ponthus de Thiar and its vineyards which are less than 15 minutes from our hamlet.

  • Magnificent bike rides are possible on the green lanes departing from Buxy for example and the blue lane departing from Écuisses.

  • Don't miss our village grocery store where you can do all your shopping and discover many regional specialties, Burgundy wines, mature cheeses...

  • Within 20 minutes you will love strolling through the charming streets of Chalon-sur-Saône and relaxing to sip a drink at one of the many bar terraces near its cathedral.

  • In Buxy, 15 minutes away, for a family outing, the pizzeria at the station in Buxy is second to none and for a gastronomic outing, the Empreinte restaurant is a must.
