It was great in too few words to describe.
I was out alone with the dog and really enjoyed it. The camping site is very quiet and has a lot to offer. Luxurious for me. Setting is beautiful and Ton is a super friendly man who gives a lot of advice. Highly recommended

What a wonderful place to unwind! The location is so beautiful, beautiful in simplicity and yet complete in all amenities.

Surrounded by the rock walls you feel far from the outside world, but in a 5-minute walk you are already in the forest, and the village can also be reached via the forest (with beautiful views) within 15 minutes.

The tent itself was much more spacious than I expected, neat and clean. The bamping was cosy, cozy and above all wonderfully quiet. I myself had packed on full "survival mode", but on arrival there appeared to be a lot of material that you can use. Nice that there is already a light in the tent :)

I would have liked to stay a few extra nights here, but I am already planning my next trip to this beautiful place.

How was the contact with the host?
Ton is super hospitable, and the guys from the outdoor activities are also friendly and helpful.
Ton likes to think along about how you can make your stay as perfect as possible, and also has a lot of knowledge of the environment and nature. I felt at home.

Tips for new guests?
The triple beers Forêt that you can buy in the bar!
And for those who are concerned about the eco toilet: it is super clean. All you smell is sawdust; like peeing in a hamster cage!
Take something against insects with you, both in the woods, on the bamping and in the village, many skewers are targeting your calves!

Ons verblijf was heel erg aangenaam!!

How was the contact with the host?
Het contact verliep vlot en goed.

Zowel vooraf als tijdens ons verblijf. We kregen een uitgebreidde rondleiding en uitleg en werden ook goed geholpen bij zoeken naar een gepaste wandeling in de buurt.

If you still have the urge to greet everyone on the street with 'Bonjour' after only three days at Comblain au Pont, you know that you have come back from a very friendly and hospitable village. Incidentally, the Campspace host Ton himself also speaks Dutch and he is also very hospitable and always willing to help or think along. Even if it's just about the possible activities or getting a new mattress, when I discovered mine had a leak. Yes, these 'Bamping' houses are already equipped with luxurious thick mats and, if desired, with pillows. So just bringing your own sleeping bag is actually enough. And what a beautiful place this is again, waking up wonderfully between the rock walls of the old quarry. Also a perfect place for the winter camper. Because the tents are a bit higher from the ground, you are not directly affected by the cold of the ground and in dry weather there is a nice fire pit outside. But even in bad weather there is a pleasant warm army tent with bar and wood stove, so there is no shortage of luxury. Although the Campspace can let you completely relax and you can enjoy both the silence and sometimes the singing of the birds, it is good to take into account that when there are several campers (despite the small scale of only 3 'Bamping ' houses) it can be a bit noisy between the walls of the quarry. The environment makes up for it a lot, because with a short hour's drive across the Dutch border you imagine yourself completely far away from home on holiday through the beautiful hilly landscape with a rich history of sand (stone) extraction, with beautiful views, spicy climbs/descents, and various caves and information boards about, among other things, the many bats that live here.

Hi Andre, thank you for your nice review, and the beautiful pictures! Although this is not the most photogenic time of the year, with bare trees and a lot of grey, you have managed to capture the atmosphere very well.

See you soon, Tony

Very nice place at Comblain au pont, enjoyed nature, cave walks. There is small bar, fireplace, campfire pit, and burner... Ton has a wonderful personality and experience, he greeted us as we arrived by public transport. We got drinks from the bar. And multiple athletic activities are possible at venturix and we tried speleology. Activity was challenging and we were guided for 3 hours along with torch, headgear and mudsuits. Comblain is a small town and can be explored on foot or have nature walks. You can enjoy Riverside walks at grotte. Chaudfontaine and other small villages are nearby. WC were maintained by staff.

Tips for new guests?
Please bring your sleeping bags or liner as they may not be free in the tent. Also bring good sports shoes along with plastic cover as it gets rainy all the time and shoes may not dry.

You can cook your food as there are not many restaurants outside.

There is one charging point in the bar. On some days you may not be able to have solar shower.

The campsite is in an amazing spot between the steep walls of a quarry. There is a small lake where you can canoe and swim and a small bar where you can pour yourself a drink and sit dry in bad weather. We were only on site for two nights (with my sons aged 11 and 14), but it felt like much longer, so much we did. Hiking, climbing and abseiling, archery, lighting a fire, baking pizzas in a Dutch oven... And then the unbelievable silence at night... We had a great time, the kids want to go back next year!

How was the contact with the host?
Ton is a nice, relaxed host. He gives his guests a lot of freedom on the property, but is available if needed. We had little planned, so asked a lot of last minute from him (an afternoon climbing for example). Nothing was a problem. He also thought enthusiastically about the likes we were going to make ourselves

Tips for new guests?
To go!

We enjoyed our trip very much! Very nice and cozy place to relax. It is located near a beautiful village where you can take countless beautiful walks as well as various activities at Venturix itself. At the sleeping place there were also various facilities for preparing food and/or having a drink at the cozy (karaoke) bar :) Definitely recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
The contact went very smoothly, very pleasant hosts who we could always contact with questions and/or needs. We were also regularly asked if everything was to our liking.

Highly recommended! Beautiful, secluded old quarry transformed into a personal mini-campsite where you can enjoy nature, tranquility and at the same time many activities (kayaking, mtb, guided tours). Very conscious of the environment. Nicely maintained eco toilet and solar shower. Enjoyed our short stay immensely.

How was the contact with the host?
Ton is flexible, very helpful and gives nice tips about the area. He and his team make you feel right at home!

Tips for new guests?
Ask Ton about the beautiful walking path into the village, bake pizzas over the campfire or have a barbecue arranged for the real glamping feeling.

Rules

After a wonderful day outside, prepare your own meal on a burner or over the campfire. However, you can also make use of our offer and, for example, have a nice barbecue or bake pizzas on a wood fire.

Our bamping area is very mini, so you will stay with at most a few like-minded people in our quarry, where it is green and wonderfully quiet. Back to basics in optimum form, but ò so beautiful!
So in the middle of nature, we do ask that you take into account the fellow residents, so pets may not cause any nuisance, and although we are all for children to play and romp, that should not be a nuisance to others either.
