When arriving at A Terra we immediately felt that this place was very special. After driving a dirt track bringing us deeper into nature for some minutes we arrived at the beautiful site surrounded by nature. We were welcomed by peacocks, chickens, horses, a donkey and sheep at first and after this by one of the staff members who gave us a tour of the Eco Camping. We passed some tipi tents, their organic garden, a communal living room/dining area and got up to our tent which was actually a wooden cabin with a bathroom attached to it and a tent inside it. It all felt very luxurious but still kept us very connected to nature due to a large window that was also present.
Also on the site, is a beautiful lake with a beach bar and canoes. This is where we met Francisco, the owner. He has started the Eco Camping 10 years ago and through time made it to what it is today, very inspiring to hear what his vision is for the place and about living in general. In the evening we had a really nice dinner in the communal living space which we could reserve in advance after which enjoyed a good nights rest in the very comfortable beds.
The following morning we woke up from the sounds of the birds. The first thing that we saw when waking up, was nature through the big window opposite our bed. We immediately felt reconnected to nature again, such a special and beautiful experience. We had a really nice breakfast which was included with the room. After this we sadly had to leave the site again to resume our travels.
All in all we would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The site is clean, facilities are good and there is plenty to do in and around the site. And best of all; nature is all around you. Take a deep breath to let everything sink in and connect to the beautiful nature this site has to offer.
