The best place to sleep in Rotterdam

From ever further away to close to home: Every week we are going to let a Campspace host do the talking. This time, attention to Marjan and Sander who welcome you 'even in times of Corona' to their backyard in Rotterdam. Instead of moving to Portugal and opening a small B&B there, the couple decided to stay home for a while instead. ‘We decided to bring the feeling of Portugal to our own backyard […] Then came the realisation: We have such a beautiful place, in such a beautiful city; how cool would it be to let others enjoy this?’
 

Last year, the two registered on Campspace for multiple reasons: 'On one hand to introduce guests to Rotterdam in a simple, inexpensive way, and on the other hand to make new, spontaneous encounters.'  When asked what makes their camping spot so unique, they said, ‘It’s simple: the location. The city center is only ten minutes away, but it feels like you're in the middle of nature.' A favourite place in the garden is the fire pit, between the house and the camping spot: 'In this place, the sun shines all day and in the evening you can light a fire. If you don't want anything at all for a while, you should hang out here in a sun chair.'

When it comes to activities in the surrounding area, this Campspace also has a lot to offer. 'The choice is yours, you have everything within reach.' All of this attracts campers from close by as well, 'Many guests visit us during a cycling holiday in their own country.'
