The best place to sleep in Rotterdam

From ever further away to close to home: Every week we are going to let a Campspace host do the talking. This time, attention to Marjan and Sander who welcome you – even in times of Corona – to their backyard in Rotterdam. Instead of moving to Portugal and opening a small B&B there, the couple decided to stay home for a while instead. “We decided to bring the feeling of Portugal to our own backyard […] Then came the realisation: We have such a beautiful place, in such a beautiful city; how cool would it be to let others enjoy this?”

Last year, the two registered on Campspace for multiple reasons: “On one hand to introduce guests to Rotterdam in a simple, inexpensive way, and on the other hand to make new, spontaneous encounters.”  When asked what makes their camping spot so unique, they said, “It’s simple: the location. The city centre is only ten minutes away, but it feels like you’re in the middle of nature.” A favourite place in the garden is the fire pit, between the house and the camping spot: “In this place, the sun shines all day and in the evening you can light a fire. If you don’t want anything at all for a while, you should hang out here in a sun chair.”

When it comes to activities in the surrounding area, this Campspace also has a lot to offer. “The choice is yours, you have everything within reach.” All of this attracts campers from close by as well, “Many guests visit us during a cycling holiday in their own country.”
