About this campspace

Do you want to relax, only in a quiet environment, this is possible! With a tent or small camper you can camp in the forest. With the tent next to a stream. You are alone. There can also be two or more tents, but it is only rented to one group or person. It is a small forest, +/- 1 hectare. There are spaces mowed freely. The rest is nature. There are no accommodations, everything is pure nature, a toilet has been made. There is a labyrinth made of willow branches, a moment of reflection .... For those who travel by train, you can get off at the stop "Hillegem", just before Zottegem, then you can go to the forest on foot via a church path, + / - 1.5 km; There is a wood basket available, you can use or gather wood, perhaps it is best to bring a small layer before sawing the firewood. But carefully in dry peroides! Enjoy! Not suitable for XL mobile home!

Since the camping site is located in a forest in a nature reserve, the forest will be temporarily closed as the breeding season has started. Also available at the request of nature point. My apologies for this? At the end of June, it will be reopened.

Almost immediately after my request, the owner responded very kindly that we were certainly welcome. Immediately received the address and directions so that was great!
The location was also great for those who love peace and nature, just like wild camping but not illegally...
Forest, nature, campfire, bbq and a drink; you forgot corona so much.
I proposed to my girlfriend there, so it was unforgettable anyway!
A tip for campers who want to use the fire pit: bring an ax or saw to cut down the dead branches you find.

In the forest it is possible to choose a spot where you want to set up the tent. It is possible to drive onto the site with a camper. There is a picnic table, a fire pit and a toilet without running water. For the rest it is completely back to basics. The children can fully enjoy themselves in a small ditch. The forest is the ideal base for hiking and cycling trips. Pascal is very very friendly. He makes you feel welcome right away. He has a great love for the outdoors and gardening in particular. This ensures that it is wonderful to stay in his garden.

The visit was great! The host kept contact and offered to drive us to the camping spot which we accepted. He was a very generous host and even built a toilet for us, knowing that a woman was visiting. He offered help if anything was needed and the area was exactly, if not better, what was advertised. Great host and location.

It was very quiet. The dogs were allowed to run free. Ideal to escape the crowds for a while. Beautiful trees. It was close with our camper of 6.5 meters. Fortunately the surface was dry

Disadvantage:
Noise from the trains nearby disturbed the peace.
A lot of nettles
No water bottle found with clean water.
Toilet was not recommended.
Price quite expensive for not having accommodation.

July 2021 · Translated from dutch

Host Pascal has responded

Dear, I am sorry that apparently it was not a success, but I thought I had clearly stated that there are no accommodations, it is not a campsite, that is what makes it so unique. And the trains, indeed you can hear them but at 11 pm it's over, isn't it? Too bad you didn't mention that. It is the intention that you stay in nature and not at a campsite.....so in the future read my description carefully before you book, gr Pascal
