We are Marije Vonk-Heinen and Mattijs Vonk. In 2021 we emigrated from the Netherlands to the Vosges, together with our son Pelle (3 years old). Marije is an oncology physiotherapist and Mattijs Communications Advisor and Designer.
We started a microglamping and organic market garden in the Vosges, called 'Les Jardins de Biffontaine', because we want to live closer to nature, seek more variety in our lives and contribute more to the local community. The fact that we are also true Francophiles has of course also played a major role.
We have started a new life with the main focus on running Les Jardins de Biffontaine. In addition, however, we both remain active in our own field. Marije still likes to give relaxation massages, while Mattijs is active online as a designer and communication and marketing advisor. Pelle goes to school in Biffontaine and seems happy with his new life.

Wonderful place, wonderfully quiet next to the forest with a playground for the children, rivers to build dams, swimming ponds, ... and good food if you want!
Everything you need !
The children were allowed to go and pull carrots, in short, great fun!
How was the contact with the host?
Super smooth!
Tips for new guests?
Explore the neighbourhood, go for a swim and discover the Vosges! We will return again!

We were lucky enough to stay a few days in this little paradise!
Top location if you like peace and nature. Surrounded by greenery, grazing sheep that sometimes come to say hello, wake up to the sound of birdsong and go to sleep to the chirping of crickets in the background.
The tent itself is furnished very basic, bed, bedding and coat rack to hang some things on. But all around there are plenty of facilities!
There is a large covered outdoor area where you can sit if the weather is not showing its best side. Furnished with table and chairs, lounge chairs, hammock, lighting, toys for children,…
In the garage, an interior space has been set up with a large shared kitchen and your own small private bathroom. Everything is provided: crockery, cooking utensils, washing-up liquid, bath towels ... Also walking routes, information booklets, books, games, outdoor toys, ... are all present.
Some drinks and snacks can be purchased for a very reasonable fee.
You are doing a great job Marije and Mattijs! Keep it up! You will definitely see us again!
How was the contact with the host?
Marije, Mattijs and Pelle are very warm, hospitable hosts! You lack nothing and if you need anything you just need to talk to them.
Their vegetable garden is amazing and Marije conjures up delicious plant-based meals on the table. This is pure enjoyment!
Tips for new guests?
Be sure to try Marije's home-made plant-based meals, with home-grown vegetables from the garden. Delicious!
A sleeping mask can come in handy, as the tents are very light. But that is everyone's own preference. And bring a nice warm blanket, because it can be quite chilly when the weather is bad. But that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a great location!

Super nice place to stay for a beautiful holiday in the Vosges / Alsace. The tents are spacious and comfortable, we slept wonderfully in the beds. The bathroom is very neat and the kitchen is perfect for cooking your own meals (the fresh products from Mattijs and Marije's garden are highly recommended).
The surrounding nature is beautiful and is ideal for walks. We took the car for a day to Xonrupt Longemer and Hohneck (recommended!) but the forest next to Mattijs and Marije's house is just as much worth it. We also drove into Alsace for a day, which was easy to do by car.
For anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday in breathtaking nature, but does not want to compromise on comfort, this is the perfect stay.
How was the contact with the host?
Mattijs and Marije are very cordial and do their best to give you a good stay. They were quick to help us with questions and they had good advice for activities in the area. Very good hosts!
Tips for new guests?
Bring warm clothes. Because you are a bit higher it can be cold at night. And go into nature!

Enjoyed the silence and tranquility in the immediate vicinity of the woods. Made very nice walks. We also took a trip to the Gerard Lake, definitely worth it! The tents are large and comfortable (especially with young children). The children slept on a luxurious camp bed. The kitchen is well equipped if you like to cook for yourself. The vegetables from the host's vegetable garden are very tasty! Everything is there for a comfortable stay. There are also toys for the little ones, who will not get bored easily.
How was the contact with the host?
The landlords are very friendly and discreet. Smooth communication.
Tips for new guests?
Bring extra blankets/sufficiently warm clothes in case of bad weather (no fire bowl).
