Staying between authentic standard apple and pear trees with only sheep and bulls as neighbors. Lounge on the private beach or cool off in the swimming pool or the Hollandsche IJssel. In the meantime, the hares are running across the grass. Light a fire and roast some marshmallows. During the season you pick your own fresh apples, pears and blackberries. You also have access to an (open) outdoor shower and sink, both with hot and cold water. In addition, it is possible, for a fee, to use a porta potti, a refrigerator or a bicycle (*). In bad weather it is possible to take shelter under cover. In order to allow our guests to enjoy the surroundings in peace, we do not rent out more than 2 places for 2 people each.

We are Hilde and Michiel and live with our 2 sons Niels & Joost in the beautiful Green Heart just outside Oudewater. In 2018 we came to live here because we always wanted to live outside. Because it is so beautiful here and we have a lot of space, we would also like to share our paradise with others so that they can enjoy it too! So you are very welcome to spend one or more nights with us! Kind regards Hilde & Michiel

Great orchard with lots of space to find a nice spot. The
Picnic table directly on the Hollandse IJssel is also delicious. The town is easy to walk to and very nice with beautiful old buildings and terraces.

How was the contact with the host?
Definitely good and friendly. You immediately feel welcome.

Tips for new guests?
Watch out for falling apples with your (oldtimer) car ;-)

If you are looking for peace and privacy, this is the ideal place! Super nice camp space between the apple trees and on the Dutch IJssel, where you can take a refreshing morning dip. You can rinse off under the outdoor shower. We enjoyed it here!
The facilities are very simple, but we did not find that a problem for one night. Host and wife are very welcoming.

How was the contact with the host?
Friendly, fast, hospitable

Many thanks to Hilde and Michiel for a warm welcome and a lovely two-night stay in their orchard. The site is exactly as described and just as nice as in the photos - we chose a shady spot under apple trees for our tent and had a very relaxing weekend exploring Oudewater and the surrounding farmland, and watching woodpeckers in the garden. This was our first camping trip in the Netherlands and we couldn't have asked for a better experience - a peaceful place with plenty of space, greenery, and the personal touch.

How was the contact with the host?
Prompt, informative, and friendly.

Immediately upon arrival a warm welcome and guided tour with explanation.

How was the contact with the host?
Super cozy. We were told everything about the area and even our spot was mowed short in front of us.

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to visit this place. The rest area and the atmosphere are great here!

With four friends we had a wonderful long weekend at Hilde & Michiel. Because they only rent out two places, we had everything to ourselves. Beautiful green field with fruit trees, several places to sit, a hammock, a swimming pool, bbq / campfire place and very nice, hospitable owners. Oudewater is a beautiful, cozy town with cozy terraces. In short, we had a nice long weekend. Next year again!

We had a wonderful weekend on the beautiful grounds of Hilde & Michiel.
My old-timer caravan could reach the orchard just fine and the extension cable (borrowed from Michiel) allowed us to go quite far into the field. The orchard is really beautiful, wonderfully quiet, green and on a canal where you can swim. Michiel is a super host, we felt very welcome. Because there are only 2 spots, the privacy level is guaranteed and you really feel like you are in your 'own' green camping world.
Oudewater -an incredibly beautiful & cozy town- is within walking distance, so those who prefer to be among the people are also in the right place!

It was super nice in the orchard of Hilde and Michiel. I had the most beautiful spot, all the way in the back of the garden by the hammock. In the evening I had a lovely meal on the picnic bench by the water with a glass of wine and a book. Oudewater is also a very nice town to visit and sit on the terrace!

If you have a SUP or canoe, you can launch it right in the back of the garden in the IJssel! I jumped in too because the weather was great.

Highly recommended, I think I will come back again.

How was the contact with the host?
Very well!

Tips for new guests?
Have a nice swim in the pool or in the IJssel, grab a terrace in Oudewater, read a book in the large orchard, make a fire on the 'beach' and roast marshmellows...plenty of options!!

Our experience was great. We had a wonderful weekend in a beautiful place. Sweet and involved owners who want others to enjoy a beautiful living environment.
Oudewater is worth a visit. Walked through it a bit and sat on the terrace.

My experience was super good! It was a beautiful place, with lots of privacy. A very nice environment. The village of Oudewater has plenty of terraces and a nice old-Dutch atmosphere. On the Campspace itself you had a private beach on the IJssel and we could really enjoy nature. The hares walk around you and the daisies decorate the field on which you camp.
Tip, come by bike, so that you can easily enjoy the area. We cycled from Leiden via Gouda and the Reeuwijkse Plassen. This was a great route. Also in the evening easy cycling in and out of the village of Oudewater was very pleasant. Gives an ultimate holiday feeling.

Our stay with Hilde and Michiel was short, but nice. Tent next to the hammock, jump in the IJssel and we had the whole garden to ourselves. It is beautiful and Hilde and Michiel are super sweet. I say go!!

It was the first time I went camping on my own, and also my first experience with Campspace. The overnight stay in the orchard with Hilde and Michiel made it a heartwarming experience. Hospitably welcomed by these cordial people who allowed me all the freedom and tranquility, and who were also open to a personal conversation. I think the fact that they had their abundant amount of fruit picked by the Food Bank in the autumn says a lot about them. And what a beautiful place! After arrival we had a lovely swim in the Hollandse IJssel. And in the evening sat for a long time at the picnic table by the water, enjoying the setting sun. Early in the morning the concert of the birds. And then be waved off. So much love in that one night.

Michiel and Hilde are excellent hosts. Incredibly hospitable and helpful. Plenty of information about the facilities, environment and pleasant conversations about their (family) life. In the evening Michiel lit a pleasant campfire. It is truly a beautiful place. Fruit trees, the Oude IJssel that flows along the plot, everything well maintained. Nice camper place. The photos on Campspaces are based entirely on truth. Tip: Take a walk through Oudewater. Beautiful and atmospheric historic town.

Our first experience with a micro campsite was great, we quickly left the city for 2 days and came to relax at the campsite of the friendly Hilde & Michiel. Laze in the hammock between the apple trees and sit by a campfire in the evening. A very nice and spacious place to enjoy yourself, highly recommended!

I recently camped with Hilde and Michiel. They were very hospitable and helpful! The garden is adjacent to the water where you can take a refreshing dip. The garden is also so deep that you can hardly see the house anymore; you really imagine yourself in your own piece of paradise on earth. Many hares run through the garden and you wake up to the sound of birds and sheep. I will definitely come again to this beautiful and cosy place!

A lovely place to relax for a few days. Hilde and Michiel are very friendly and hospitable people, who like to share their beautiful orchard with others. You can stand anywhere in the orchard. In the back it is very quiet and you can walk to the river. You are close to the ‘beach’ which the owners have created with a swimming pool, outdoor shower, fire pit, and BBQ. There is always only one other guest, so you are comfortable on you own. Oudewater is a beautiful old fortified town, where it is nice walking. In the vicinity of the campsite you can enjoy cycling along the water. Recommended!

Beautiful large garden, you can choose where you want to stand. Hilde and Michiel are very hospitable. The pool is nice, but a dip in the Ijssel in the morning is even better (watch the current). You can also use the BBQ and make a fire (unfortunately we could not because there was a thunderstorm and rain). The house is located along a road that you can hear, less in the back of the garden and not at all during the night. We saw a lot of hares in the garden and the lambs and bulls on the meadow next to it are also great company. You can rent a porta potti and the outside shower works fine! With warm water! A very nice place!!! We enjoyed it.

Céline and I loved our stay with Michiel and Hilde. They were very welcoming, even providing us with BBQ tools when they heard we would use their little BBQ to have our first BBQ of our own! We really felt at ease. From the back of the garden you couldn't even really see the house, just hear some kids from the neighbors having a blast in the water and some little boats pass by, which adds to the summer feeling. There was shade, sun, water, campfire, a hammock, everything you need to enjoy yourself. We will definitely go back!

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at this campspace. A quiet spot in the orchard surrounded by the greenery of fruit trees, with plenty of places to sit quietly. It is also possible to rent a toilet in a tent.

In short: hospitality, tranquility and fully equipped

The hosts were super friendly. When we arrived they were there to welcome us and explained the things we needed to know. We were free to pick a spot to put up our new tent. The location is humongous and absolutely beautiful. The old orchard with pear and apple trees is adjacent to the IJssel, a river where you can swim (tip: do it). The hosts created a kind of beach which gives you the look and feel if you are on a little beach somewhere. It has a fire pit and a little bbq, all free to use. The hosts are friendly and easily accessible. They checked out how we were doing, a couple of times and gave us some tips. There is cattle like cows and sheep in the meadows nearby, which makes you feel you're really a long way from home and in a different area. There is a village nearby which is old and very well-manicured, all buildings restored, lots of places to eat and drink. Although a little touristic a must go to.

Wonderful camping in the beautiful orchard of Hilde and Michiel!! Wonderfully quiet, in nature where even owls and green woodpeckers fly around the tent! Hilde and Michiel are wonderful hosts! The picnic bench on the dike of the Hollandse Ijssel and the fact that you can swim in the Ijssel every day make it complete! Thank you very much, Hilde and Michiel!! We will definitely come back!

We had a great stay at Michiel and Hilde's place. The camp spot was really nice amongst the fruit trees. We ate all our meals by the water on the provided picnic table which was perfect. We enjoyed having a nice swim in the evening as well. The chemical toilet was a great addition to add some creature comfort.
