Tent
A wonderfully relaxing place in the middle of nature. Birds, foxes, wild boars.
All off grid, a compost toilet and rainwater is all there is.
You are surrounded by forests, bike rides, walks ... Everything in nature is close by, even fishing in the pond.
You sit close to the pond, when it rains the surface is moist for a long time. Waterproof shoes are certainly not an unnecessary luxury.

Like so many, the days are fully booked during the week with work and social arrangements. That is why the city is the most logical place to live in. To relax we have found a small paradise, for us the ideal flight from all crowds. We live as simply as possible, solar panels, rainwater, compost toilet. It is always pleasant to be able to share that with others.

This place is really wonderful if you just want to get away from it all. We were the only ones on site and really enjoyed the different animals that can be heard in the evening. The stars are also beautiful to see. There are plenty of places to walk in the region, something we certainly did.

Very good. You will receive clear instructions!

Bring waterproof shoes and enough drinking water! We also found a Tarp very pleasant because of the rain :)

This place is just fantastic if you want to relax, super beautiful place,
It's a shame that some people don't follow the rules, for example by not cleaning the toilet...
Some people ruin it for others
How was the contact with the host?
Tim is someone who helps you very well and gives good instructions, you can ask him anything
Tips for new guests?
Be sure not to wear good shoes in bad weather!
And bring enough drinking water!

Thank you for the nice review. Although we are selective about who is allowed to come camping, we sometimes encounter people who leave the place more like a festival meadow, but seeing nice campers enjoying the peace and quiet makes up for that frustration!

Beautiful place! Beautiful pond with great plant border. Nice and calm. Up to 2 camping pitches and maybe Tim or family in the chalet (not for rent).
Almost had no appetite for mosquitoes, the toilets are also fine.
Please note: there is no drinking water/shower or electricity.
However, there are good BBQs where you can also light a campfire. Bring wood!
How was the contact with the host?
Fine! Tim is relaxed 🙂 and flexible.

A blissful and green paradise where my dog and I have come to rest. We were there all alone and enjoyed nature and the many frogs. If you are a light sleeper, earplugs are recommended at night, but for me it was a relaxing sound. Had a thunderstorm for 1 day and a lot of rain, so everything was soggy, so rubber boots are recommended when it rains a lot, otherwise you will have wet feet. Our tent has remained dry during the day, you can completely choose where you put your tent, so we placed them in such a way that the water drained off and we were not bothered by this. The compost toilet is basic, but you can do your needs by opening the door and a nice view of nature 😄 (if no one else is there of course). Our dog has completely enjoyed himself in this paradise and I was very happy that he could just walk around freely and enjoy himself. Thanks for that! We will definitely come back!

1 day it stormed and I received a message from Tim that something should be wrong, or if I didn't feel safe, I could contact him 24/7. Contact went very well and Tim was quickly available.
Tips for new guests?
- rubber bones in wet weather
- Delicious freshly made lasagna at the crumb (takeaway restaurant) in attachment-eksel (you can pass your order by phone and pick it up 30 minutes later). I enjoyed it very much.
- Solar lights make it extra cozy since there is no other light in the evening / night

Ruud, great to read! You were definitely top guests. Respect for nature and tranquility is not self-evident for some. Hopefully you are fully charged. What a beautiful place! All peace and space, basic facilities but fine for each other. Only thing that was a pity in the area was that many forests were closed to hikers because of military exercises.
How was the contact with the host?
There was a brief miscommunication as the document needed to find the correct route and gain access was not sent. Luckily Tim was super helpful over the phone and we got there after some extra adventure!

The military exercises can indeed sometimes be annoying for a walk. Unfortunately, those practice days are not published in advance. The nearby domain of Pijnven is always accessible, so definitely walk in that direction next time.

It was a little adventure to find the place. But that was because I couldn't get the great instruction from Tim opened. (later on, that's why I know it's great)
An oasis of peace, greenery, birds, water and flowers. We stayed there for a night with our 12 year old son. An unforgettable experience for all of us. No frogs this time of year.
Thank you Tim for sharing this place with others who love peace and nature!
How was the contact with the host?
Through this site and WhatsApp. Totally fine. Adequate and friendly. Nice sir!
Tips for new guests?
First of all: Before us there had been guests who were not tidy. Dirty mess left behind and the fire pit messy. Not fun to be the first to empty two buckets of other people's shit. Owner couldn't do anything about it. But come on, just leave it the way it's supposed to be. You are a guest on this beautiful piece!
Practical:
Mosquito repellent. High shoes related to tall grass. Bring enough water of course. What hand gel.
Oh, and bring your own sack of wood. A campfire completes the experience. There are plenty of BBQs.

Thank you for the friendly but also useful feedback. I will certainly pass on your tips to the guests in the future.

It was a fantastic week camping in this beautiful spot, thanks in part to the great helpfulness of the owners who made my stay comfortable during rainy days! (Thanks again for that!) It is a natural, well-maintained site where respect for nature & nature restoration are paramount. Campfire sites, pick table, clean compost toilet. Lots of birds and with some patience almost a guarantee to spot beavers. Orchids in the driveway. A green oasis for the enthusiast :)
How was the contact with the host?
Excellent, the host is very helpful and the instructions on the site are clear.

This is a perfect camping spot for those who love simplicity and who are happy with woodpeckers, owls, swimming past beavers and so on. The location was just perfect for what we wanted. Far away from the world, pond, fire, beautifully maintained piece of land.
We went for Father's Day, with my father, my daughter, my brother and his daughter. The neat sanitary facilities make the entry point for camping here much smaller, and all three generations have really enjoyed it and are immediately asking when we will go back. This will most likely become a new annual tradition. :) So I recommend the location to everyone, but please keep a spot open for us next Father's Day. :)

The Host Tim and Sara were really kind and helpful. They offer us bug spray against the bugs in the evening. They have two sweet dogs that walk around and like a hug now and then. The host helped us with finding a nice area to walk and find the best spot to eat icecream. :) We did some fishing in the pond next to the tent and had some campfire. The area is middle in nature. Frogs everywhere so if you don't like them... don't go there. The sound of birds, frogs, and crickets in the night is like an orchestra of nature. You can walk for hours in nature and don't get bored.

It was wonderful to spend almost all alone in the peace of nature on a small campsite. The croaking of the frogs and the chirping of the birds sounded like music to my ears😄
We didn't really miss the lack of electricity and running water. And we also quickly get used to the compost toilet!
We had to take in the daily target practice of the nearby military domain, but that was not so bad.
What was a bit disappointing was the pond where it was not possible to fish because of the excessive vegetation. At info, however, it said fish pond...
But overall a positive experience!

TLDR: Nice location. Bad communication.
When we arrived at this location there were a number of surprises:
- We weren't alone at this location
- The compost toilet lacked stock of wood chips (degoutant) Especially after a week of use by other people.
- Active IP cameras (they are used effectively, not just when something happens)
- Very nice environment
Long explanation: When we arrived we were a bit surprised: There were already a number of tents (2). The owners of these tents were already present at the campspace on Monday, Tim had never announced during this period that new people were coming. To our surprise another family arrived: They were again not informed about the presence of other groups. That's not a disaster; But you want to know that in advance. Especially if you leave all your stuff on a closed domain.
Finally, the compost toilet. I haven't even been in there. Call me a prude but I don't think it's okay to dump others' excrement on an (open) compost heap. Certainly if that bucket then has to be rinsed out again in a canal that flows into the ponds of the location. That's really gross. Put that on the fact that I'm too prudish: That's quite possible. But then it turned out that the wood chips (which are an essential part of the functioning of a compost toilet) had not been replenished during the week. Read: The wood chips were gone. There has been no maintenance or checks during the whole week. He should have hung a 6th camera in the pot.
How was the contact with the host?
Didn't have much contact with the host.
Tips for new guests?
If you don't like being watched by cameras (5 cameras?) then this location is not for you.
Military areas surround this zone, expect the sound of gunfire (didn't bother us).
July 2021 · Translated from dutch
Hi Vincent.
Too bad about the toilets, you should have given a heads up, then we would have been happy to clean everything. We always trust that everyone leaves everything clean, which did not happen this time. Very disappointing to hear that. There is a whole stock of wood chips provided next to the compost heap, you will not have found it then.
We do indeed share the camping site with several people. Too bad that wasn't clear, in the future I will explicitly state it again before accepting a booking. The place for you alone is certainly possible, but that can be discussed in advance.
The cameras are there because we can't always be there ourselves, but we do give people the chance to camp there. When we are there ourselves, we also see everything. We inform everyone in writing that there are cameras so that campers are not surprised.
These have come about because we have often arrived at something that looks more like a festival meadow instead of a quiet piece of nature. Things broken or things that just disappeared.
So for maybe next time and for other guests. Be sure to let us know if something is not right. We prefer to solve it quickly on site instead of having to find out afterwards and we can't change anything.

It is a lovely quiet place, we like to keep it that way.
Please take all your rubbish with you, we do not have a collection service.
The toilet is a compost toilet, which you can empty yourself upon departure.
There are some cameras because we can't always be there ourselves and stuff disappears regularly.
If you want to make a fire, it is best to bring your own wood. There are piles of wood on site, but they are there for the insects and hedgehogs. So be sure to leave it.
On the website of Natuurpunt you can see which fire hazard code there is, especially in dry periods, the forest rangers are very alert and all fire is prohibited.
Please leave everything in and around the houses (tables, chairs, BBQ, fire pit, garden tools, ...).
Peace and tranquility is the intention, both for nature and for the possible other campers.
