Star hut near the Heidschnucken sheep!

  • Lodge

In the beautiful Eifel region: Our "Starry Cabin," affectionately known as the "Starry Cabin," is located right next to the Heidschnucken sheep pasture. Here you can sleep soundly, cook a light meal, and make yourself comfortable…😊. The cabin sits on the meadow behind our farm, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape. Scattered across the large meadow are also pitches for our campervan guests. The Starry Cabin is more of a "glamping" accommodation than a traditional holiday home and does not have a bathroom. A shower, toilets, and a large sink and washing-up area are located in the sanitary block 55 meters away, which is also used by our campervan guests. The cabin is furnished with a spacious double bed and two sofa sections (sleeping areas: 67x150cm and 67x195cm) that can be used as additional beds. Bed linen and towels are included. The cabin has a kitchenette with a two-burner cooktop, a standard refrigerator, and a dining table, as well as basic equipment including pots and pans, a kettle, knives, cooking utensils, a selection of teas, a French press coffee maker, dishes, glasses, and cutlery for four people. Fresh water and a sink are located in the sanitary block, 55 meters away. A 20-liter canister of drinking water is provided in the cabin. The sanitary block, also 55 meters away, is used by our camper guests and includes an outdoor shower, a large sink, and separate toilets with sinks for men and women.

  • 200m away there is a farm shop with eggs, juice, vegetables & fruit - purely seasonal - as well as pasta, potatoes, but no dairy products & no baked goods.

  • Invitation to swim: Madbach Dam (14 km), Zülpich Water Sports Lake (15 km), Freilinger Lake (29 km), Kronenburg Lake (43 km) and the maars, the volcanic lakes of the Eifel (approx. 75 km away).

Our farm is also home to our White Horned Heath Sheep, which are on the Red List of endangered domestic animal breeds. By keeping them, we make an important contribution to the preservation of traditional farm animals. In 2024, we established a large orchard on the Heath Sheep pasture, planted with many heritage fruit varieties.

Rules

We are not a typical campsite and do not have typical holiday homes – but this is a special place.*** Dear guests, please read the following information carefully.*** Check-in 12:00-20:00: Please always arrange an appointment. Please stop before the small stop sign, call us, and wait; we will pick you up there. Under no circumstances should you stop or park on the alpine path or on the neighboring property! For our campers: We do not have designated pitches. A chosen pitch cannot be changed without prior consultation, even if the meadow is large and a choice of pitches was previously offered. Toilet use is, of course, included in the basic price. In the sanitary block, there is one toilet each for women and men, as well as a unisex toilet in the courtyard building. Please leave the toilet as you would like to find it. We offer electricity (€3/day), max. 1,000W for short periods, max. 400W for continuous use. We offer a shower (€3/shower). The sanitary block has a spacious outdoor shower with hot water, as well as an indoor shower in the courtyard building.*** We do not offer free waste disposal; only city-provided garbage bags (€3/80-liter bag) are available. Please leave them in the courtyard at check-out. Due to the presence of foxes, no garbage may be stored outside the accommodation. Please collect organic waste separately; it goes in our brown bin. Please ask for paper bags for organic waste.*** We do not have facilities for disposing of portable toilets. For our guests in the Star Cabin: The sanitary block with showers and toilets is 55 meters from the Star Cabin and is also used by our camper guests. Waste disposal: There is a large bin for general waste in the summer cabin. Please let us know when it is full. Please separate cardboard/paper, recyclables (yellow dot), and organic waste. Please ask for paper bags for organic waste. Due to the presence of foxes, no trash may be stored outside the accommodation.*** An interim cleaning of the cabin depends on the length of your stay and can be arranged individually with us. For all guests: We offer four fire pits with large fire bowls, which must not be moved under any circumstances, as well as two tripods with grill grates and firewood (€15/wheelbarrow). We have a large, freshly mowed lawn where all guests must coordinate their use. We don't have a written set of rules, but we do have clear expectations regarding order and cleanliness. We have nine neighbors on our large property, with whom we treat each other respectfully and with discretion. We do not have a cleaning service that tidies up the grounds after guests have left! Please ensure the cleanliness you would appreciate yourself.*** We can only allow dogs to run free if they are well-behaved; otherwise, dogs must be kept on a leash. Flying drones is not permitted on our farm and is very unpopular throughout the village. Check-out is mandatory: 10:00-12:00 (for campers) and 10:00-11:00 (for cabin guests). Please come to the farm shop and ring the bell. We are usually there from 9:00 onwards, and from 10:00 on weekends, either in the shop or in the office around the corner. If you can't reach anyone, please call us before you leave. Have a safe journey and best regards from the Eifel region, Ernst & Britta
