Unique shepherd's wagon in English park garden

Ways to spend the night

  • Tiny House

About this campspace

Imagine: After a wonderful day of touring the area, you retire to this unique shepherd's wagon. The fireplace is lit and the food can be delivered by the local chef or you can cook yourself in your own kitchen.

You spend the night in a unique and atmospheric shepherd's wagon, in the age-old tradition of the wandering English shepherds who traveled with their flocks through the hills of England.

With one big difference: This car is designed to make your stay as comfortable and complete as possible. With a private bathroom, kitchen and underfloor heating, you won't want for anything.

Authentic details such as the curved wooden ceiling and the raised box bed convey a sense of security. Its four sturdy metal wheels were handmade by the blacksmith from the neighboring village and have driven it to its current location: in the middle of our beautiful park garden.

With a view of the natural pond so you can peek unobstructed at our running ducks Geer and Goor.

At the Compagnons you are in the middle of the landscape of the Drents Friese Wold. Large oak trees line the roads that lead you meandering past varied nature reserves, authentic farms and old villages. Sandy trails beckon to be explored. The gently sloping landscape is home to forests, heathland, sandy plains and countless pingo ruins. We are happy to tell you where you can spot the many badger castles during your cycling or walking tour, or which routes are best for touring by car.

Prefer a day of culture? The cities of Leeuwarden and Groningen are just a stone's throw away and are home to unique shops, cozy cafes and inviting museums and theaters.

You don't necessarily have to leave the site for a cultural experience. The door of the studio in the park garden is always open. Feel free to come in and learn about the current projects or be a part of it yourself through knowledge exchange or workshops.
