Our campsite in Drenthe is uniquely situated in nature and close to a historically charged place: the memorial center of the former Westerbork camp. The name of our campsite (“Tikvah”) was therefore not chosen by chance and means 'Hope' in Hebrew. Our campsite is located in the middle of nature and has pitches of up to 250 m2. From the campsite you walk directly into the forest and onto the heath "Het Groot Zand". A visit to camp Westerbork is very worthwhile (also very suitable for children). Guided tours are given every day. The museum is highly recommended for those who want to know more about Jewish history and life in the camp during World War II.
There is a cycle path in front of the campsite and various hiking trails behind the campsite where your dog is also allowed to run loose in the woods!

We are Karin and Eelco Schaap and are campers ourselves. That's why we don't like park-like campsites with paved streets. For example, we have set up our campsite as we would like to camp ourselves: camping in nature and playfully set up camping grounds in Drenthe. Above all: SPACE to enjoy nature
The memorial center of the former Camp Westerbork is 700m away.
