"On the Rotzenmühle"
In the small Schlattein valley in the middle of the Upper Palatinate Forest, surrounded by trees and meadows and the "Schlattein" stream, there is a mill, the Rotzenmühle. The old courtyard in the Upper Palatinate style is reminiscent of rural life in the past. You feel like you're on a little journey through time. The mill has already experienced a lot and the buildings could certainly tell a lot. But we are also giving the mill a future - a new wind has been blowing since summer 2021.
The project is at the very beginning. But it is already a meeting place, a place of rest and relaxation, a place of positive energy, a place where time seems to stand still and yet flows. And we want to share that with you.
We offer you a meadow surrounded by trees, in the middle of nature, far away from stress and restlessness for camping. It is being renovated. The old rural building should shine in new splendor. And even if it's a construction site, you won't notice the work on your pitch. You can enjoy the peace, we promise you that.
Camping at the Rotzenmühle is also suitable for families. There is space to relax, romp and play. The animals are also looking forward to your visit.
Regional excursion destinations:
The Rotzenmühle is a lonely farm, but there is still a lot to experience in the area in the immediate vicinity. Take time for hiking, cycling and to enjoy the Upper Palatinate Zoigl culture. The mill is part of the well-known sculpture trail.
A beautiful circular hiking trail with works by a wide variety of artists that deal with the themes of "time", "goal" and "path".

Tell us about your experience
It was our first campspace experience and we loved it! We had a nice view and nice shadow from a big tree. You are a bit close to a way but due to the trees there was enough privacy and not much noise. It was around 600m away from the mill but they are planning to have some other campsites ready in the near future.
How was the contact with the host?
Viv and Magda were away most of the time but we had good contact. They came over to say hi and we had a lovely chat about their big project.
