Welcome to our hidden gem, a mountain campsite for nature enthusiasts! Experience unparalleled tranquility and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of our garden, nestled atop a small valley just 4 kilometers away from the picturesque Dordogne River. With our unwavering commitment to preserving nature, we offer five exceptional camping spots, complete with facilities for horse riders and a horse meadow. Prepare yourself for an authentic and immersive 100% natural experience!
Discover a secluded island-like setting in the heart of the land. Our campsite is situated at the end of a peaceful, traffic-free road, offering uninterrupted serenity. Enjoy multiple terraces that provide captivating views of the wild and enchanting valley, with a breathtaking panorama of the upper Dordogne River merely 2 kilometers away. Choose from two meticulously maintained camping spots, perfectly suited for small to medium-sized tents (up to 4 tents), conveniently located adjacent to and below our charming old barn. These sites boast flat terrain, abundant sunshine, and partial shade, complemented by manicured lawns, flower beds, and fruit trees that enhance the natural beauty of the valley. For the adventurous souls and fans of bushcraft, we offer an additional four remote camping spots nestled deep within the woods, near the pond or the stream. Please note that currently, we can accommodate tents up to a maximum width of 4 meters (we've received requests for 8 x 8 tents!), and while we are considering building a larger platform, it won't be available this season.
Rest assured, our pristine environment remains untouched by air or soil pollution. Relish in uninterrupted stargazing due to the absence of light pollution, and indulge in the tranquility of nights undisturbed by human-made noises. During the day, expect minimal disturbances, as the soothing sounds of crickets, dormice, owls, and birds serenade you, especially during the summer months. Winter brings an even greater sense of serenity.
Access to our campsite is through a cul-de-sac road, ensuring minimal traffic disruptions. Additionally, our region remains free from industrial wind turbines, allowing you to fully embrace the natural ambiance. Embark on extensive hiking adventures with countless kilometers of trails right at our doorstep. We've already created a hiking guide for an 11-kilometer loop that minimizes asphalt roads, and we're constantly working on expanding our offerings.
The magnificent Dordogne River is merely a short 4-kilometer drive away, granting easy access to essential services such as gas stations, shops, pharmacies, and bakeries, conveniently located 14 kilometers away in Argentat and 16 kilometers away in Beaulieu.
During your stay, you'll have access to spring water, which, although not officially declared potable, is consumed daily without any issues. Our house provides electricity, toilets, and showers for your comfort. Upon request and compatibility, we can offer limited WiFi connectivity, although the connection speed may be moderate. The SFR mobile network coverage is reliable, while the Orange network coverage is average.
In the summer months, seize the opportunity to indulge in wild swims in the pristine, undeveloped pond or explore the nearby waterfalls. If desired, you can experience unforgettable nights under the starry sky. Musicians are welcomed to jam, making our campsite an ideal haven for rest, photography, drawing, hiking, or serving as a base for a myriad of sports and cultural activities available in the region. If my schedule permits, I will happily guide you to hidden waterfalls nestled deep within the valley. Please note that due to the narrow access road, we regretfully cannot accommodate caravans or motorhomes. However, vans, campervans, and converted leisure vehicles are more than welcome.

Tell us about your experience
Philippe has several places where you can pitch your tent. Something for everyone. We were in a place with a beautiful view over the valley, but he also showed a more remote place in the forest. The area is beautiful there are many hiking trails nearby. There is also a kayak rental fairly close by. Highly recommended!
How was the contact with the host?
Good! Philippe was present for questions and tips. We didn't speak French fluently, but Philippe was very patient and in the end we understood each other well.
Tips for new guests?
The first day we went to the office du tourism in Argentat (check opening times in advance). There we received extensive tips and a booklet with more than 30 walking routes, varying in difficulty.
