Hey, I'm Urban. I live here with my wife and our dog after my kids moved out ;)
We are artists and run a ceramics workshop. I ride my bike a lot in the area and can give you some tips.

Tips

  • Enjoy a bike ride over old railway lines to Liège and come back by train, for example.

  • The old town of Aachen with its alleys, squares and nice cafés is practically on the doorstep.

  • From 18.11. The Aachen Christmas market will take place from December 23rd, 2022.

We had a lovely 2-night stay as a couple, surrounded by nature. The location was great, the owner was friendly and communicative. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway.

We stayed for 3 nights and were warmly welcomed by Urban who showed us the beautiful garden. We put the tents at a nice shady spot and with the rain shower we were good to go! Quiet spot, one night we were lucky with a guitar concert by the neighbor who played for hours, and the friendly dog who came to say hi every now and than. Surroundings are beautiful for hiking, and we went by motorbike to the Eifel which is super near!

How was the contact with the host?
Warmly welcomed, good information about surroundings and dinner places, definitely recommended.

Tips for new guests?
Spend your night at the little square terrace and speak with some people. Everyone seems to know each other so within a weekend it feels homey.

Thanks Maartje, I'm glad you liked it so much. both here in the garden and on the terrace in the village by the church ;-)

The garden camping at Urban and his wife's place was amazing! Both of them have lovely and creative personalities. It felt very homely to camp in their garden. The garden is truly more beautiful than how it's described. We were so amazed by their creativity and appreciation for beauty. Elliot the dog came to visit our tent once at night but he is a very gentle dog so no worries. Overall, we loved it. The only thing we missed is a shower after biking in hot weather. But you can't have everything ;)

How was the contact with the host?
Perfect communication through Campspace website. Quick reply.

Thank you Sumaita, you were very pleasant guests, with a sense of beauty. I would be very happy to welcome you again at any time! I wish you many more beautiful bike rides. Good communication, clean, everything perfect. I'm working on the shower facility for cyclists ;-) I've ordered a solar shower.

urban was very welcoming and friendly and the stay in their beautiful landscaped garden was a treat. very gifted artists displayed around the garden and the studio where the bathroom is. we had our own terrace with chairs and table next to the tents and even washcloths on the house, for lack of a shower. would recommend their paradise to anybody.

Glad you liked it Noel. You were nice guests and are always welcome back. :-). CU urban

Very pleasant atmosphere in a beautiful garden. Several nice places to eat or play.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good. He doesn't speak French perfectly, but we always know how to explain ourselves.

Tips for new guests?
Ideal for 2 or 3 people but no more.

July 2022 · Translated from french

Host Urban has responded

Aurore and daughter were pleasant guests. It would have been easier in English or German, but there isn't that much to explain. 3 tents for 2 people plus a dog have already had a good time here. I can recommend Aurore as a guest.

Super.

Hi Bram, thanks for the review. You write BEAUTIFUL and GREAT. hmm, why are you only giving it 4 stars? That's a pity and actually the worst rating so far. I would like to know why?

Urban has a beautiful garden where you can completely relax. Nice place for the tent in the back of the garden.

How was the contact with the host?
Communication in advance and reception in the garden was fine.

Tips for new guests?
Make sure you determine your place where you set up the tent because of the difference in height.
