About this campspace

Welcome to my garden, located just outside Vannes in Brittany. Our location is easily accessible thanks to its proximity to the Rennes-Vannes and Nantes-Brest interchange. We have a large plot of land of 2000 m² where you can park facing south or in the shade of octogenarian oaks, offering an incredibly beautiful spectacle in autumn.

Our garden is located in a natural area where you can observe diverse fauna depending on the season, such as pheasants, green woodpeckers, owls, tawny owls, deer, and more than twenty different passerines. You can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while being just 10 minutes from the port of Vannes and at the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan. We are also close to all amenities including shopping areas, hospital, train station and bakeries just 4km away. A bus stop is also located 800 meters away.

Our campsite is also ideal for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts, with departure points for mountain bike rides and hiking trails nearby. We also offer BBQs available, as well as the possibility of using our washing machine for €5. If you wish, you can also benefit from electricity and a shower at the homestay, with a donation of your choice.
We also welcome motorhomes, even in our absence. Toilets and showers are accessible in the house when we are present, with a free price of your choice. We ask our campers to respect the quiet after 10 p.m.
Dog €1 (payment on site)
Finally, our location is perfect for visiting the Gulf of Morbihan and its surroundings, where you can observe wildlife in autumn and visit archaeological sites in winter. Friendly Breton and fan of live music. I am a school teacher and I love my region. I like to welcome campers in my garden to share convivial moments with campers from all countries. I received 20 different nationalities since the beginning of my adventure.

Tips

  • Visit of the city of Vannes (5 kms), cruise in the Gulf of Morbihan..

  • Château de Suscinio (history), château de Kerguéhennec (contemporary arts)

  • Market in Vannes every Wednesday and Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the pretty Place des Lices and its adjacent streets

  • The Brief, Old Saffron

  • At Woody, the Green Wave.

Really nice garden/campsite, enough space. It's also close enough to a lot of different nice spots and things to do and see. A bus stop that enables you to go to Vannes is well within walking distance.

Something about the campsite and the host promotes contact with other campers, therefore i can wholeheartedly recommend this campsite to solo travelers like myself.

How was the contact with the host?
Stephane is just a all around nice guy. He knows a lot about the environment and is happy to share this info. His English is also very good, which helps if you French is non-existant like mine. I felt welcome all though my stay, which i extended two times.

Tips for new guests?
If you want to go to the peninsula Quiberon it's best to go early. The access road is a natural bottleneck and the traffic jams are absolutely brutal, they start at around 11:30.

It was a pleasure to welcome him to my garden and I hope that we will meet again one day.

Tell us about your experience
Beautiful garden in a quiet area, yet close to Vannes which is a real tourist destination. You can use the toilet and bathroom with Stephane when he is at home, so it is best to have your own facilities. Stephane was kind enough to give the key the day of our departure so that we could lock ourselves when we left

How was the contact with the host?
Stephane is super sympathetic and we had a nice evening together with other guests

Tips for new guests?
Visit Vannes and possibly take a mini cruise in the bay of Morbihan.

We stayed at Stéphane's place with a tent for a few nights and it was a very nice experience.

We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our stay. Merci beaucoup!

How was the contact with the host?
Stéphane was eager to share the Breton culture with us, whenever he had some time to spare. His English is very good, so communicating with him was no problem.

Tips for new guests?
There was a toilet easily accessible, which was comfortable. We had no car with us but the bus network is quite large and cheap - so it's easy to make trips by bus to Vannes or the Golf of Morbihan.
