You should be comfortable with being off the grid and away from the hustle and bustle. This is a peaceful place to reconnect with yourself and mother nature. Natural beauty and wild creatures on the islands including horses, birds, iguanas, bees, will surround you dogs, insects, roosters, etc. Vieques is a charming place to recharge, and our casita is a peaceful space to do it in. At the Casita, you use solar power for lighting and charging our USB devices. The shower is gravity fed, the toilet system uses gray water flushing, and there is a stove and oven for cooking with propane. There is a kitchen sink that is gravity fed as well. Two 600 gallon rainwater collection tanks store our water and there are two 55 gallon water tanks upstairs that uses a well pump to fill. A ladder on the first floor will take you up to the loft that contains a queen-sized bed with a zippable bug net and a breathtaking view to the sea. We do not live on the island full time so you need to be very self-sufficient. We are very communicative with our guests and will do everything we can to make sure everything goes smoothly for you. The house is a joy to be at and is very easy to maintain( daily sweeping inside, mop occasionally, and overall kept tidy to assure no insects or rodents are attracted and that the house is locked when not there. There is a weed whacker for yard maintenance and other tools. You will need to bring some items with you that we do not store there such as sheets, towels, and food. Not recommended for small children as the deck does not have a railing at this time.
