About this campspace

Hello !
We're delighted to welcome you to Marseille, at the gateway to the calanques!
Enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside just outside the city!

Enjoy a very quiet environment, with the sound of cicadas during the day and frogs in the evening!
Our neighborhood is located on the outskirts of Marseille, with lots of trees, but beware of fires! We're on an east-west hillside.
We're in a valley, with no way out other than up the hill. "The avenue de la Grand Gorge is quite narrow, but in many places we can pass each other. This disadvantage is an advantage for peace and quiet.
We're surrounded by hills, so we have plenty of trees.

The activities
We're just outside Marseille!
The Vieux Port, the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde... Lots to see and do!
The Le Corbusier building, the mucem with Fort St Jean?
The little ports of Goudes, Callelongue, Madrague Monredon, the Palais du Pharo, the Frioul islands, the calanques.etc....
In town, St Victor's Abbey, dating from the 5th century.
The Panier district, Marseille's oldest and most typical, the Palais du Pharo, with its magnificent view.
Diving and sailing clubs await you.
Cassis and its magnificent calanques, which you can visit on foot or by shuttle boat, hiking along the sea to reach several calanques from the small port of Callelongue to the calanques of Marseilleveyre and Podestat....there's no shortage of activities!

Other things
We are 5 minutes from all amenities.
We live with two very friendly dogs (mother and daughter). I would ask you not to feed them if you don't want to be bothered, and to close your tents when you leave for the day. If you have a small rubbish bag before you leave, please put it up high. Thank you.
I repeat my request to be careful of fire hazards! And don't throw your papers or cigarette butts on the site. When you leave the house on the left, there's a black garbage can where you can throw your leftovers. Thank you
Please clean your appliances when you use them, as there is no cleaning lady. DON'T THROW YOUR RUBBISH IN CORNERS OR ON THE FLOOR, IT'S VERY DISRESPECTFUL. IF YOU NEED TO? ASK ME FOR A GARBAGE BAG AND HANG IT IN THE AIR TO PREVENT DOGS AND CATS FROM TEARING IT UP, NOT TO MENTION THE WIND.

Pitch for Tent

Bring your own
  • Tent

We're in a valley, so the pitches are on terraces, surrounded by vegetation that's quite dry at this time of year, facing east-west.
Access is easy and independent.
The pitches are located on either side of a staircase (70 steps) that takes you up to a beautiful viewpoint.
Some pitches are in the shade, others are sunnier, and you'll be on the ground because we have to rake the dry grass to avoid the risk of fire.
No tents with a footprint of more than 4m by 6m.

The sanitary facilities
Independent dry toilets X per 2.
The solar-powered showers are destroyed too quickly, so we're replacing them with room-temperature showers. Those who appreciate a return to nature - and there are many of them - can shower using the system provided by my husband.
A sink is available on the restanque of the sanitary block.
The water is drinkable.
When you leave the house, you can dispose of cardboard, plastic and cans in the yellow garbage can, and the rest in the black garbage can. As for bottles, a crate will be at your disposal on our terrace and my husband will take them to the container, so please be nice and respect all that. For the dry toilets, please be generous with the sawdust.
ARRIVAL TIMETABLE: 5pm to 8pm. DEPARTURE TIMETABLE: END OF MORNING.
There's a sink with drinking water on the restanque, to which the shower hose is connected.

The amenities
You can connect to WIFI.
An electric barbecue (except if windy and on concrete slab only) and a table with benches seating 8 are available.
A multiple socket is available for charging your cell phone or other items, in the refrigerator room, but under your supervision please.
The kitchen is equipped with oven, microwave, electric hob and refrigerator.
The kitchen facilities are basic, but cooking appliances are available. If you need anything, just ask.
A drum of electrical sockets is available, but please supervise.
An extension cord can be lent individually or authorized for a fee of 2 euros per day.

Tent ready
1 tent for two people (3€ per night) and 2 floor mats (1€ per night).
To be paid on handover, otherwise no tent. Sorry, but too many campers leave without paying.

Cancellation Policy

Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.

Rules

We are not a campsite, but we offer our land as an alternative to wilderness camping, so comfort is a minimum (dry toilets, cold water, electricity for fridge and laptops).
We provide a microwave, an electric stove and a fridge-freezer.
I ask you to close the freezer door tightly, to remove out-of-date products and when you leave, to let us know what you leave in the fridge, so that we can check that the products don't end up rotting. I'd rather not spend my time cleaning this kitchen area every day, as everyone can be more careful. On the other hand, this is not a garbage room. EVERYONE HAS TO MANAGE THEIR OWN WASTE. If necessary, I'll give you a garbage bag. Thank you
We only welcome people who respect our premises!
This is a non-smoking area (the region is very prone to fires).
Arrivals are from 5 pm to 8 pm.
NO CHILDREN UNDER 8 YEARS OF AGE: somewhat rough terrain (stairs).
Campers must dispose of their garbage in the black garbage can in the designated area.

For those coming by train, at the station, take the metro 2 to the Dromel terminus and from there, take the 46S bus until 6pm and from 6pm to 8:50pm, the 24 to the Panouse stop. For the 46S, go to the terminus. It's a 5-minute walk.
From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., take the 518 bus to the La Panouse stop. Then walk up Avenue de la Panouse, which is opposite the bus stop. Avenue de la Grand Gorge is the first on the right, and since it's a dead-end street, it's easy to get there.
If the GPS doesn't recognize the square, ask for avenue de la Grand Gorge, and the square is right there.

We love nature and enjoy entertaining in our typically Pagnolesque property!!
Everything is on terraces where you can pitch 1-2-3 and sometimes 4 tents.
We are close to Cassis, the Calanques, Le Corbusier, the velodrome stadium for fans, the city center, by the metro, the Goudes: a marvel for my taste.
Does this make you want???
