About this campspace

La Freegueraie is a beautiful, partly terraced, incredibly quiet plot of land with an extraordinary panoramic view of the Pyrenees and Mount Bugarach.

It is an experimental and free ground where everyone can participate in developing a vegetable garden, an orchard, a light habitat, according to the principle: free to contribute, to plant, to help oneself.

A restful calm, a little wind, a splendid view and a preserved place.
Mediterranean type of land at altitude.

Beautiful green oaks of a respectable size!

There may be goats and donkeys occasionally.

The activities
Hiking and river activities: swimming, rafting, kayaking. Lakes of Puivert and Montbel are quite close (half an hour). And also rest far from civilization !

Discover the high valley of the Aude. A stone's throw from a culturally rich region, notably thanks to the activity of the hippie communities present there.

The ground is not flat everywhere. Rather sloping.

Many shaded areas. Quite a few overgrown areas.
Access is moderately difficult to difficult in rainy weather.
Vines border the land in some places and the farm track is used to get there, which is bumpy.
Sometimes in summer the vineyard is fenced in.
Caution. In case of heavy rain, there is a risk of getting stuck.

The sanitary facilities
Rudimentary dry toilets.
There is no drinking water on the property.
Outside the summer a small well can be used to collect water for watering.

Enough to make a campfire, a caravan (3 places), a tent (20 M2) and a cabin.
