About this campspace
Welcome to our large but peaceful yard with orchard in Bergheim, near Cologne. We love animals and if you convince us that your dog gets along with rabbits, our dogs, peacocks and donkeys, you are welcome to bring it along. The campsite is available to people who are travelling, touring, visiting or backpacking, but is not intended as a long-term place to stay. Two nights is the rule, if you want to stay longer or shorter, please contact us.
From Stommeln railway station it is a 20-minute drive to Cologne city centre. Restaurants and supermarkets are within easy walking distance. Our tip for you is horse riding and boating on the river Erft nearby Bergheim.
The use of the campsite is a privilege, not a matter of course. If you book a reservation, please stick to it, because once a reservation is made, we have to refuse other people. No-calls/no-shows ruin the opportunity for others to attend.
Backyard camping is one way people can travel and stay cheaply. There is a large network of people who allow camping in their yards, gardens, etc. We are participants in this network. We like to meet people from all over the world. Just to clarify, don't think of us as a cheap campsite, so don't expect or demand all the amenities that campsites usually offer.
Camping is at your own risk. We are not responsible for objects or people slipping / falling / injuring themselves etc. The manor house is currently being restored.

Camping on the premises of our farm. Right now the mansion is undergoing restoration. Projects change seasonally. Quiet Garden and little orchard. We love animals and if you convince us your dog is getting along with rabbits, our dogs, peacocks and donkeys, you are more than welcome to bring them along.

Wonderful location with super friendly landlords. The dogs were super great, we already miss them. There was a swimming pool, which we really enjoyed. Many greetings and see you next time!

The experience was super, on both campspaces we were the only campers. This garden in Bergheim Germany was an oasis in an agriculture area. The hosts were super friendly. Hard to say which is best. We will return for sure. Thanks for the experience!

In short, this was the best camping experience I/we have ever had. The big yard in front of the castle was a peaceful place where one could truly relax and get in touch with nature and your inner child, thanks to the hammocks, fireplace and trampoline. The hosts were very kind, generous, and made us feel as if we were at home. We felt free to do whatever we wanted, and if we needed anything (for example, get the fire started), they were there to help us.

We visited Andrea's place for one night and we are beyond happy we booked it. The place looks like a fairytale. The manor itself carries a lot of history and gets right now beautifully restored by the hosts. So it has been the film set for some movies like Wendy. The hosts were super nice and they have two dogs we directly fell in love with. Even if it is so close to Cologne it feels like you are on holidays far away. Thank you for an amazing trip, we would love to come back again soon.

I really enjoyed my stay! The hosts are extremely friendly and let me feel, as if I would camp in my own garden. The location itself is beautiful too. There is plenty of space, a fireplace and even hammocks aren’t missing! There is some noise from the nearby streets and railway, but that’s not much and didn’t bothered me at all. I will for sure come back again.

Place was very very messy as they are renovating. When everything is ready it could be a very nice hideaway. Inside was a cozy living room with fireplace. We did not feel welcome. The explanation and tour went very rushed and he didn't have time for us. We had to shower in another guest's room because it was not properly indicated on the site. Especially in terms of price quality (36 € pn) we felt cheated for what we got.

Cancellation Policy
Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.
Rules
Animals and people live next to each other, there are peacocks, dogs and donkeys. Respect the environment. Dog turds and cigarette butts are to be picked up. It is our home, so respect that items that are there aren't necessarily available. Talk to us.
