About this campspace

The land is located a little away from the village, at the edge of the forest.
A border of trees separates the land from the path, allowing a certain privacy.
The land is left mainly fallow, we only clear it when we use it, to leave the wild fauna and flora alone.

The land is not connected to water or electricity, but you can get water and charge your phones in the house, two streets up.
There is a dry toilet and a compost (be sure to take a trash bag for your non-degradable waste!)
There is a designated place to have a barbecue.

The village is surrounded by 3 forests and is the starting point for several walks.

In the nearby surroundings, there is Laroche and its castle ruins, Marche-en-Famenne and its statues, romantic Durbuy.
There are also adventure centers (acrobranche, zipline, climbing, etc.), bike or horseback rides, caves to visit, etc.

Rules

We accept everyone and all animals,
But every animal must at all times be controllable and controlled by its human(s).
Any accident and possible damage on and off the field is your responsibility and is your responsibility.

There is a fire/bbq area, and this is the only place where it is allowed to start a fire. If you are cooking with gas, please use this space as well.
You can provide yourself with kindling on the site (there are small piles of thin branches), but if you plan to make a large fire which will last several hours or to cook with wood, please bring your own logs (possibility to buy some at home, depending on stocks)

If the municipality is on fire alert (this can happen during the summer) and prohibits fires, you will not be able to have a fire or a barbecue.

Normal nighttime noise rules apply (no unwanted noise after 10 p.m.). That said, the terrain being a bit isolated from the village allows music and conversations until late at night, as long as it does not disturb other campers.

If other campers are on the site with you, please show respect and attention: the noise stops when the first ones go to sleep.

You won't leave anything behind when you leave.
Please remember to take trash bags with you, there are no plastic/metal/glass trash cans in the garden.
There is compost accessible on the ground.

The land is 100% organic, you can pick whatever you want from it (nettles, apples and walnuts in season, dandelions, blackberries, raspberries, hazelnuts, egopoda, etc.).
We take no responsibility if you eat something you shouldn't, if you're not sure about the plant, don't pick it, or ask us!

It was a nice experience. Friendly reception. Nice place to stay back to basic. Nice and quiet overd. We had some bad luck that on Friday and Saturday night there was a lot of music in the distance and the animals in the area were restless at night, but that's part of it. Don't forget earplugs then 😄 We will definitely come back to stay and walk in the area.

How was the contact with the host?
Was very friendly and helpful

Tips for new guests?
You cannot go to the camping spot by car, so make sure everything is easy to carry before unpacking. You have to park at the church but there is not much space.

Hello Dorian,
Thank you for your comeback :)

I would like to add to your comment: you can absolutely come by car to the site, just do not drive into the site (so you have to carry your belongings for 10 to 100m, depending on the location you choose for your tent).
If there is no more space at the church, it is possible to park in front of the cemetery and at the village house, and if necessary, we can always arrange with a neighbor;)

Do not hesitate, if you come back, to let me know about this kind of thing, so that I can find a solution for you :)

Good day !

Very nice simpel campground, with a dry toilet and campfire place available. Amazing to wake up to the sounds of birds, cows and horses (and the occasional donkey). Lovely walks nearby, so also my dog enjoyed the beautiful surroundings!

How was the contact with the host?
Aurélie is very kind, we were able to arrive even though she wasn't around at that moment and he gave us perfect instructions. Very good tip on swimming in Hotton, the town nearby!
