About this campspace

A park-like complex includes the bishop's castle Burgliebenau, located on an old arm of the Weißen Elster. Our family is restoring and reviving this castle complex from 1186 with small cultural events.

Two outdoor shower cabins with only cold water are available as showers. A bathing lake is 1 km away. Toilets are available in the house.

We are happy to offer an entertaining guided tour through the history of the castle for a small fee. The Wallendorder lake offers a wonderful swimming opportunity.

The freight airport Leipzig is not far away and there is frequent air traffic at irregular times. However, we have found that not everyone is bothered by it.
Since we are renovating the castle over many years, it may happen that we also carry out work near the parking spaces between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On the way through, we spent one night in the tranquil Burgliebenau. The garden and the courtyard are very spacious and wonderfully atmospheric. Our boys were allowed to play in the huge sandpit and had fun with the porch swing and the prepared animals indoors. The Prasse family is lovingly renovating the castle. Super clean toilets in the castle and a fun outdoor shower are available. There is only cold water, but there is a shower curtain and a shelf.

How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly family. We were warned that there are currently an extremely large number of mosquitos on site, so that we could stock up on our car supplies. Unfortunately, a tour was not possible due to roofing work, but we were able to purchase a small guide and our curious questions were all answered.

We had a wonderful stay with the Prasse family. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The castle is an absolute highlight. We had the idyllic garden to ourselves and could enjoy the peace and quiet. There is a lake very close by, which we explored with our dogs and bicycles. There are some swimming areas. We looked for a secluded little bay so that the dogs could go into the water without a leash. The planes and the work on the castle during the day didn't bother us, the people were all very friendly and since we were still out during the day we hardly noticed anything.
