About this campspace

Dogs under 18 and campers are free - errrr the other way around 😬

There are several meadow pitches to choose from:
A) completely secluded, B) off the beaten track or C) a little off the beaten track, each by a stream and in an isolated location.
You can also position yourself anywhere you like in the orchard (see description in the picture).

The pitches are located directly next to a large forest area with numerous hiking and cycling trails. There is a wide range of sporting activities in the area. If you are interested, please ask or just google it... Alpaca hikes are offered by the neighbor 🦙 www.steinkart-alpakas.eu

The thermal baths of Bad Griesbach, Bad Birnbach and Bad Füssing in the Rottal spa triangle can be reached in 10-20 minutes by car. Accordingly, there is extensive gastronomy for every taste 🍻🥨 🥐 🍽🍷☕️ and a diverse cultural program 🎭 as well as legendary natural sites, from the Halmstein to the Teufelsfelsen

... our farm is no longer being cultivated, so we don't have any livestock. The neighbors' dogs and cats run around freely in the village (all of them cuddlers) 🐕

Security:
… the pitches are flood-proof - the stream always stays in its bed 👍🏽🍀

Sun & Shade:
... the pitches are lush with trees, with pitches A) and B) offering the most options: plenty of sun or shade well into the afternoon.
… on pitch C) there is shade until midday, but if you like, you can also have enough sun here in the morning ☀️
… in the orchard, the morning sun is more likely to shine, and during the day the trees also provide reliable shade
… it should be clear that shade can only be found near trees on the side facing away from the sun 😎😅
I'm just saying, because there was a discussion about it, 'the shadow would be gone' 😂

Driving on the meadow:
... mostly it works without four-wheel drive, only on site A) is four-wheel drive an advantage in wet conditions - not a must, because if necessary there is a small tractor to pull on or off 🚜
... if you don't have much experience with natural meadows: wet grass is really very slippery (even with morning dew) - and even when it's mown short 😊
That's the only reason for the all-wheel drive recommendation - if you get stuck anyway, it's no big deal 😅
… by the way:
Caravans can also be moved safely in the meadow with the tractor 🚜

Weather:
… the Bavarian weather forecast is only partially accurate for us, as we are located in the so-called border triangle. The forecast from the nearby district of Schärding in Upper Austria is sometimes more accurate

Trips:
... the area offers a number of 'insider tips' - I am happy to offer lovely excursions - with a guide if required. Austria and the Czech Republic are very close by...

Getting there:
… coming from the A3 Deggendorf:
Contrary to what the satnav says, take exit 113 Garham / Vilshofen and continue past Ortenburg, now according to the satnav... the last km is a paved gravel road

… coming from Austria A8 - border crossing Suben - A3:
Take exit 118 Pocking from the A3, continue according to the sat nav via B12 and B388 past Ruhstorf, Tettenweis, Schmidham…

… coming from Munich A94 / B12:
Directly after the Tuttinger Tunnel, exit the A94 (it's new, some satnavs don't know it yet), then past Rotthalmünster and Bad Griesbach via Reutern to satnav...

Backpack Camper:
... can be picked up from one of the surrounding train stations. Coming from Mühldorf, this would be Karpfham train station, coming from Plattling, Vilshofen regional train station or Passau ICE train station, and coming from Linz, also Passau train station.

... for hitchhikers, the Donautal motorway service station on the A3 near Passau is a good option, or coming from the A94 Munich, the Shell petrol station on the A94 or B12 in Tutting or Pocking.
In such circumstances...
... I ask that you give me sufficient advance notice of your request. Of course, you are free to make your request one hour before your desired arrival time. However, it may happen that your request is not read until the next day 🙋🏽‍♂️

There is a small self-service farm shop on site - Lindner's Eierheisl: eggs, pasta, potatoes, honey, jam, elderberry puree, syrup, juices, egg liqueur, mustard, hemp oil, pumpkin seed oil, pesto and other homemade seasonal delicacies 😋 - the eggs are of course from free-range chickens on the neighbor's meadow 🐓🥚

There are well-stocked farm shops and of course farmers' markets nearby. Delivery to the site is possible by arrangement. You are welcome to help yourself to the fruit from the fruit trees and bushes on site. You can also help yourself from the house pantry. 😊

Although there is no motorhome dinner that I could prepare (and it's better that way 😂), there are several Italian restaurants nearby that offer delivery services and their cuisine is consistently praised 🍕🥗🍲

Shops for everyday needs 🧻 as well as specialist shops can be reached in 10-15 minutes by car (Bad Griesbach, Fürstenzell, Ortenburg, Pocking) or in 15-25 minutes by car (Passau, Pfarrkirchen, Rotthalmünster, Vilshofen). The same applies to sports facilities and leisure facilities - there are excellent cinemas in Bad Füssing and Passau. There are also baths, saunas and wellness facilities in Passau (PEB) and the sulphur bath in Pilzweg near Fürstenzell.
