The natural campsite is located on the edge of Saxon Switzerland in the triangle of Dresden, Pirna and Stolpen on the site of the old sawmill on the Wesenitz river. The old mill has been converted into a hydroelectric power station and the old wood storage area is now the RV parking area.
From here you can be on the Bastei in 15 minutes, or go hiking or climbing in Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland.
Day trips to Stolpen Castle, Königstein Fortress, Pillnitz Castle, Moritzburg, the city of Dresden (the Saxon Florence on the Elbe) or even to Prague are possible. Or you can simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet by the river.
Immediate hiking routes include the favorite valley to the Belvedere over the 3 Kastaniensee, the high bridges to Pillnitz or the beautiful Wesenitz valley with the transition from the Lusatian granite plateau to the Saxon Elbe sandstone.
