Our Nature Reserve is situated 290km from Johannesburg in Waterval Onder, Mpumalanga. South Africa

The property embraces an enclosed valley of approximately 257 hectares with some of the most beautiful mountain country to be found in the Waterval Boven district. 

The Private Nature Reserve offers pet friendly private self catering cottages and exclusive campsites on the banks of the Joubert Spruit. Relax and take in your surrounds whilst hiking on our well marked self-guided hiking trails. The prolific bird life, and breathtaking scenery will keep you coming back, again and again

The Private Nature Reserve is ecologically contained and home to many species of fauna such as bushbuck, baboon, klipspringer, duiker, steenbok, vaal reedbuck, vervet monkeys, leopard, genet, rooikat, rock pythons to name a few. There is also an abundance of bird life, including black eagle, steppe buzzard, as well as various kites and falcons.

Situated in a quiet and tranquil area of Waterfall Onder, it is rich in natural and South African History. The kloof (gorge) and slopes of the valley once housed President Paul Krugers Commandos during the period of his escape to exile  via Lorenzo Marques (Maputo). 

Circular rock encampments with old Martin Henry rifle shells and enamel mugs used by the Boer soldiers have been unearthed on the property.

As you enter the beautiful natural valley, you will immediately sense its serene and peaceful ambiance.

We are perfectly located as a stop over for travelers to and from Johannesburg and the Kruger National Park.
