Sleeping in a Bunker!

About this campspace #s004357
This bunker served as a shelter for the soldiers. A few years ago it was made habitable and real enthusiasts can indulge themselves here. The nature house is fairly basic, bring hand and bed linen and sleeping bags. Mattresses are present. Cooking utensils, plates and glasses are on the shelf. A small electric 2 burner, a mini fridge and a folding table should make your stay here the most beautiful experience.
The Fort is part of the New Dutch Waterline, a defense line that could not be started until 1845. This line runs from Muiden to the Biesbosch and contains more than 60 fortifications. A tower fortress built in 1845. A major renovation was already taking place in 1878: the construction of the Contrescarp. The fort is owned by the Forestry Commission and has been completely renovated under the direction of St. Wandel en FietsForten and made usable for the next 50 years. This restoration took 6 years and was concluded with the rebuilding of the Fortwachterij.
