super quiet spot, you really get that "alone" feeling. There are several walks possible in the area (Hoge sleeve, Tikkebroeken,...) but we also liked just leaving the meadow and strolling through the woods around it.

How was the contact with the host?
excellent, delivered quickly and smoothly! Friendly man, we got a folder of the area.

1. there is a small lake. Nice! Unless you have a dog with webbed feet that dives into the camper every 5 minutes under the duckweed ;)
2. there were indeed a lot of mosquitoes. I think it has something to do with the lake ;).
The high sleeve with the sleeping giant is definitely recommended. Despite the good weather there were few other hikers.
4. if you enter Hesstraat on your GPS, make sure that you are not sent to Retie. Apparently we weren't the only ones wrong about that.

We stayed here for two nights and completely relaxed. Fantastic secluded spot surrounded by forest. We had a lot of space to ourselves where the dog could enjoy himself. Highly recommended for those who like to camp off-grid and want to escape the everyday hustle and bustle.
