My wife and I both come from scouting backgrounds and camping is in our blood.
Usually we are on the road with an off-road vehicle equipped with a roof tent.
At home and abroad we look for places of peace and quiet with respect for nature!

Tips

  • canoe trip on the Kleine Nete (canoe rental at 100 meters)

  • walk in surrounding nature reserves, walking routes and maps available on request.

  • On Sunday morning farmers market within walking distance!

What a beautiful place! Lots of space to relax and enough space for fun activities.
Both the woods and the village are within walking distance, plenty to do!
Very cozy were also the squirrels that are present in abundance!

How was the contact with the host?
We were very kindly received, thank you for the sweet and thoughtful welcome gift!

Tips for new guests?
Mosquito spray is certainly necessary, but we did not experience the mosquitoes as a nuisance.

In a word Wow !!!!
There was even a welcome gift ready!
What a fantastic place, you are very quiet despite there are cycling and walking routes in the vicinity.
We camped with our roof tent and then it is so nice that everything is within walking distance.
Lidl, walk through the park at the back, you are there in 5 minutes.
Very nice center of Herentals at 10 minutes walking distance, with nice terraces and shops.
100 meters away kayak rental across the small Nete.
The area is beautiful for walking, which we have done a lot with our 2 dogs.
We will definitely come back here!

How was the contact with the host?
Paul and Rosy are very friendly people, we had a nice chat with them.
If there is something, they will also look for a solution.
They give you tips about the area etc.
Awesome!

Tips for new guests?
Mosquito spray / milk I would definitely recommend.
The mosquitoes also like it when there are guests 😉

Wow! This spot of camping space in the middle of nature and yet close to the center is heaven on earth.
Fully demarcated (ideal for the furry four-legged company!), close to various hiking trails, near the Nete, near a gigantic dog playing field and only a 10-minute walk from the pleasant center of Herentals.

We will return with great pleasure!

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Rosy and Paul went very well!
We were met by Rosy, who checked with us whether we could drive smoothly to the camping spot (because of the marshy surface) and was also immediately offered an alternative if it didn't work out.

Super sweet people :-) Top hosts!

Tips for new guests?
There are many biting mosquitoes in the forest.
So be sure to bring your mosquito spray ;-)

Hi Paul and Rosy, we were allowed to enjoy the wonderful place you have there for 1 night in November. Just outside a village you imagine yourself in a place where you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. We could make a fire there and enjoy nature. It was fantastic. Highly recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
Very good, the contact was clear, very friendly and they gave some tips (on request) for hiking and the area. There was also wood available to make a fire.

Tips for new guests?
If you want to feel surrounded by nature but still close to civilization, this is an absolute must.

Tell us about your experience
Liesjes Bos was a special place to spend the night, especially because due to circumstances we only arrived at night. But it was easy to find and so close to the buildings of Herentals, on the gravel paths of a natural area, it has a very unique atmosphere. Paul and Rosy were extremely friendly when we met them at the birch lane the next day.
Cooking on my small wood gas burner went really well in the fire pit, and you can really get the feeling of being alone in nature. But shops are within walking distance through the natural park and bat forest. The environment is just as nice as the bush and we hope to come back again.

The walk from the gate to the small private square was truly magical. To our delight there was a small outhouse that was very clean. There was also toilet paper and hand cleaning gel. Thank you very much for that.
We really enjoyed our time in Liesjes Bos and will definitely come back again.

How was the contact with the host?
The written contact was super nice and the short meeting on site was also great. Paul and Rosi just stopped by to see if we were okay and if we found everything. Both were super friendly.

Scout Glenn About the scout program

Tell us about your experience
From the moment you swing open the gate of Liesjes Bos and drive through the beautiful driveway, you imagine yourself in a completely different world.
Where you walked 2 minutes ago in the center of Herentals, you have now suddenly ended up in your own private park.
During your stay you can explore one of the many forest paths, relax in the nice homemade tree swing or relax in the evening at the fire pit. This Campspace has an ideal location near the center, but is also a good base to start one of the many walking routes. But first enjoy that delicious welcome drink that is ready on arrival!

Beautiful, quiet and well-kept place a short distance from the small Nete! Perfect for our canoe trip from Retie to Herentals. All requested information was communicated clearly, quickly and in a friendly manner. Due to the weather conditions we unfortunately only stayed 1 instead of 3 nights. We will definitely come back here for a longer stay!

Beautiful night spent in Liesjes Bos. Not so easy to find in the dark, but thanks to the good directions of the owner we got there quickly. We have not found the toilet, but that is probably due to our arrival in the dark. Made a nice fire and slept well! We enjoyed the silence and tranquility.

The entrance is not that wide. Just to do with a normal campervan. Soggy in some places in winter. Be careful where you sit!

We arrived and saw a beautiful birch avenue. We felt in the De Columbus program. A narrow lane and then an idyllic clearing in a forest. Beautiful! A swing, campfire pit and a nice welcome drink and snack completed the setting. And don't forget a real toilet! We enjoyed the hiking trails nearby, very close by the way! And the play forest, cafeteria at the Kleine Nete... really a place to remember. Downside: the mosquitoes. Even though the host had warned us, I went home full of red balls, but very satisfied ;-)

How was the contact with the host?
Fine. Clear message with information about how to get to the domain.

Tips for new guests?

Close to hiking and cycling nodes to immediately explore the Nete and the surrounding forests.
Friendly owners who came to say hello and are easily accessible for questions / problems.
Highly recommended (but don't forget your tricks against the mosquitoes in the season 😉)!!

We have amused ourselves, but very much bothered by mosquitoes.
For that reason alone I don't want to go there anymore, my whole body covered in bites, I really don't talk nonsense. At least 60 bites, and all that itching extremely unpleasant.
Please think twice it wasn't just me, the little kids and my husband were also covered in bites.

How was the contact with the host?
Never seen

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to bring drinking water, it is not available.
also water to wash is not available, we had to buy drinking water to wash ourselves, I think this is not possible (drinking water is very expensive) and we have not even seen the host
