We are Hannie and Peter and we have a family business, with horses.
Next to our house we have a fenced large pond with ducks, peacock black swans, guinea fowl, geese and plenty of space for camping.
We also have the possibility for holiday storage with horses, and outdoor rides for experienced riders, see Manege Noot.nl
We live 2 kilometers from the beach.

Together with my boyfriend I had a wonderful camping trip on the grounds of Hannie and Peter. Lovely among the trees with a beautiful view. The adjacent riding school offers some basic facilities such as a shower, toilet, canteen for a cup of coffee or the like. The sea is nearby and you can already see the dunes from the property :) Hannie and Peter were there for us whenever we wanted to ask something and are very hospitable. Thank you, we enjoyed it!

How was the contact with the host?
Great, responded quickly.

Tips for new guests?
At surf school Callantsoog you can rent boards, but you can also take a surf lesson. The surf school is located slightly back towards Callantsoog and there you can also enter the village, which is also very pleasant.

We have been here for 18 nights and it was really super cozy! We were with our daughter 2 dogs and a horse. A beautiful and quiet spot by the pond, enjoy the ducks, swans and other fowl. The unexpected visit of our other daughters was no problem either. Close to the sea and my daughter has made beautiful beach trips. Nice walk and of course at pole 6 on the terrace. Very good accommodation for the horses! We also love it, nice and quiet in the middle of nature. For us more than sufficient opportunity for shower and toilet. There is now also a sink where you can get hot water. All in all we had a nice 3 weeks

How was the contact with the host?
Hannie and Peter are wonderful, heart-warming people, always time for a chat and on Friday, of course, grab a beer in the canteen, very cozy. Simone (daughter) is also very helpful with our horse Nila. People with a heart for horses and people. Nothing is too much and we would love to come back again. The 20th century museum in Hoorn is also recommended.

Tips for new guests?
Keep it up!!

To see if my nephew likes camping with the roof tent, we stayed with Hannie for 1 night.
This was a great success. At first he couldn't believe that we were really going to sleep on the car. :D
Despite the heavy shower, we had a great time.
Hannie explained to us which facilities to use and where to find them.

How was the contact with the host?
Hannie responds quickly to messages.
Both Hannie and Peter are interested in the people who come to camp with them.
And want the campers to leave satisfied.

Tips for new guests?
The rear (western) part of the field is the quietest part. Behind the goose/swan/koi/duck pond.
Not that the road is busy, but you can hear the tractors and trucks as they drive past the bumpy road.

Nice and well-kept area, a few minutes by bike to the beach or to the city with shops for daily needs. Toilets and two small shower stalls on site. There is a small playground for children, lots of feathered cattle (peacocks, ducks, etc.) to watch and horse fans get their money's worth here.

How was the contact with the host?
Uncomplicated, quick and very, very personable!

Stayed two nights with a tent at this campsite. A wonderfully quiet and cozy site with simple, but excellent facilities.
The welcome was friendly and warm and they thought along nicely about finding a good spot for the tent.
The atmosphere is friendly and accessible.
Toilets and showers are neat. It is possible to charge your phone in/near the canteen of the riding school.

I had specifically chosen this campsite because of the combination with an equestrian center, with the idea of combining camping with "equestrian activities". If I have one point for improvement for this campsite, it is more for camping guests, or more clearly creating the expectation that the campsite is not actually part of the riding school.
We were lucky enough to hook up with a few boarding clients who let my daughters with their horse. The girls were also eventually able to participate in a vaulting and riding lesson.
On the other hand, there were also guest house customers who made it clear to us that camping guests are not welcome in stables and apart from the lesson, no opportunities were offered from the riding school to do something with the horses. My expectation was different when booking this campsite.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with the host was fine. Friendly and warm welcome and also before our stay there was a quick response to messages / questions.

We had some problems with leakage in the tent. We could have solved this ourselves, but if we hadn't succeeded Hannie would certainly have helped us where possible.

Thanks for a lovely few days!

How was the contact with the host?

Spent a lovely few days here. Relaxed atmosphere on the site, spacious pitches and beautiful surroundings. The nearby beach is of course always great!

Stood by bus in a spot next to trees and the pond. Add a chair, feet on a stool, drink on the table and watch what happened in that pond between all those different types of birds. (That also applied to my dog, who had never seen such a nice 'continuous cinema show' before ;-)
To be repeated!

How was the contact with the host?
Hannie and Peter give you a warm welcome. Laid back, helpful and friendly. Very nice!

Tips for new guests?
- If you go to the beach at the nearest beach entrance, you will see a beach pavilion on the right when you arrive at the beach. Don't walk too far and just far enough 'to have earned a snack and drink'.
- In Callantsoog there is a delicious ice cream parlor on the Dorpsplein, IJsje Prima, Ice Cream Parlor of the Year 2020 & 2021. Was a good tip from Peter.
- Nice round trip along the coast, including Callantsoog, Hoorn, Medemblik and Den Helder.

We enjoyed! The campsite is next door in a very nicely landscaped and maintained garden. The playground offered a lot of entertainment, especially the swings. There was also wifi available, not all over the campsite, but that you could go online was very nice for my 13-year-old since there was still a lot to be exchanged with the friends via social media.
There are many spots to choose from and all with plenty of space and beautiful views.
You actually camp in the large garden of the adjacent house at the (large and beautifully situated) riding school where there is a lot of activity to see and do. Of course horses, the occasional cat on a visit, a view of the pond with beautiful birds and cute baby ducks and you also hear many birds at night and next to the campsite is a flower bulb company. Now there were only a few flowers left. Do not expect a camping setup with washing up facilities, you will have to create it yourself, you get the water from the garden hose. If you want hot water, there is a tap in the showers. So pretty basic camping. This time we took it easy with food. The best meal was the salmon that Hannie ordered for us from the neighbor. There is a snack bar nearby and the village shopping center is well stocked. You reach the toilets and 2 (narrow) showers via the stables, indoor arena or outside. So you use the facilities of the riding school. On your slippers next to the horses that are chasing you, very funny!

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Hannie and Peter was very pleasant. We felt very welcome by them. We got a lot of tips and they are super nice and helpful. Everything in good consultation.

Tips for new guests?
Get Salmon! At the weekend at the smokehouse next door. So good!!! It's nice to have a look in the morning.
And a nice relaxing walk? Walk across the beach with the wind in your face (entrance opposite cafeteria Duinzicht - parking spaces available. There is also a bicycle shed at the stand) and beach at the beautiful beach bar Paal 6. Then you walk down the beach again and go walking path to the right, into the dunes. A beautiful and peaceful walk. To enjoy! Halfway through the path is another bench.

We were immediately welcomed on arrival by Hannie, who showed us her beautiful garden and company (equestrian center Noot).
The choice to find a place for the tent was simply difficult because there were so many nice places, wonderfully sheltered, with a view of the dunes or the poppies.
Campers can use the toilets and simple showers at the riding school. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc. are available in the canteen of the riding school. Because this Campspace is at a riding school, it is possible to bring your own horse. How cool is that, going on holiday together and enjoying beautiful beach rides. It is also possible to take a horse from the equestrian center for a ride on the beach, but you must be an experienced rider. For those who would like to get acquainted with horse riding, there are also opportunities for adults and children.
We were allowed to use a few simple bicycles to go to the beach or the store. Both are a stone's throw away and you could also do it on foot.
If you really want to make a nice bike ride, Hannie also has good bikes for rent. The surroundings of Callantsoog are definitely recommended to discover by bike.
The boat to Texel, the dunes of Schoorl and the lovely city of Alkmaar are also easily accessible from the location. In short, plenty to do in the area. But the location near the beach makes this place super special. And despite the fact that a riding school can be quite a busy business, you have all the peace and privacy at the camping spots. Hannie and her husband Peter are always available for questions or advice about the area. If you are in this nice place on a Friday or Saturday (during the holiday period), don't forget to visit the salmon smokehouse of SalmonOak. René has this special business on the grounds of the riding school and smokes real Norwegian salmon in an authentic way on the days mentioned.
