We have a stunning 320 acre property with 800m of the Pappinbarra River running through it. We have two different sites which can cater for caravan owners as well as campers. Both allow easy access to the river (for swimming, fishing, getting water etc) without eroding the banks. We can set up a camp toilet if necessary (this requires a small additional fee simply because it requires borrowing equipment and extra time for us).
The Pappinbarra River is the water supply for our whole community so we would ask that you respect it and take care of it for all of our sakes. It has amazing animal life in and around it and if youre peaceful enough youll experience it. We have a number of platypuses (platypii?), water monitor lizards, turtles, at least one goanna (that weve seen) and plenty of fish, eels and things you can try your fishing line out with. (No traps allowed though - too dangerous for our native wildlife.) Due to this precious environment that we live in we also have a "no guns, no hunting dogs" policy so if thats what youre looking for its definitely not here.
Please also note that fires are only allowed when the Rural Fire Service says so, and during the heat of summer its normally a no-no. Please ask us first if you are wanting to have fires. Gas BBQs are OK. Our farm has approx 60 cattle and 15 chickens - some of whom you may encounter in your daily walks. You may find that the cows wander through the camp site during the night and leave little deposits so youll need to make sure you dont leave anything precious on the ground.
There is plenty to do here if you want to - or nothing if that is what you want to do too! Swimming, fishing, forest walks, mountain hikes and if youre really keen you can do some fencing (of the "keep animals in" variety) or other general farm activities with the farmer! Outside of the farm, there are plenty of fabulous things to do in our area, including a couple of wineries (Bago Winery and Cassegrain both about 30 mins drive), beaches at Port Macquarie (45 mins drive), Ellenborough Falls, and many other beautiful places to visit. Stop at the Beechwood Cafe for supplies and/or a great meal, as well as pizza and a beer at the Beechwood Hotel. The main camp site is on the other side of the river from the entry to the farm, you can fit up to 6 tents or camper trailers in this area if you want to bring a group. If you are bringing a camper trailer you will need a 4WD to get it across the river as our causeway crossing got washed away in a flood and we havent had the time or money to rebuild it yet. If you dont have a 4WD for your camping gear we can probably help you out with getting your gear across the river, just make sure you let us know in advance (in case our 4WD isnt here). There is also a site on the house/road side of the river. This is a perfect caravan site and can host up to 3 caravans. Even though we have space for large groups, our bookings are for one group per site - so regardless of whether you are a group of five families camping together or one couple on your own, the site is yours once booked unless you let us know that you don't mind other groups coming in.
Our rates are $15 per adult per night and $10 per child per night, capped at $50 per family per night. (We have kids, we know it can get expensive to have holidays with them.) We will require a deposit for the site, which will be refunded if you let us know that you need to cancel with more than 7 days notice, or we will transfer it if you re-book. Whilst we say animals welcome, we do this with reservation - small, friendly and under control animals only. Setting up a camp toilet is a one-off fee of $20. If weve missed anything out please feel free to ask!

We are actually pretty cruisy people - we're not keen on imposing rules, however of late we've had a few people do some things that have really shocked us - such as cutting down trees and encroaching on our home without asking. With this in mind, we've come up with the following rules:
1. Don't be a dick - this may sound simplistic, but really if you behave like a decent human being here, there won't be any dramas.
2. Look after and respect our environment and our land - above all else, this is our home. If you don't look after it we won't continue to make it available for people to come and camp on.
3. If in doubt whether you should do anything, ask first.
4. Leave it as clean as you found it, and take your rubbish with you. We don't have council waste collection where we are.
5. Enjoy yourself!
