We are a British couple living in S.W France on a 1-acre permaculture smallholding. We raise poultry and grow vegetables and are working towards self-sufficiency. We invite campers onto our land because we love meeting new people, especially those who are interested in self sufficiency, the environment and climate.
If you like foraging, the area has many roadside cherry, fig, peach and walnut trees. We are a 2 minute walk from a historic washhouse where local farmers' wives used to gather to do their laundry.
There is a local viewpoint (3 mins walk) which offers stunning views of the local countryside. The surrounding countryside is gently rolling which is ideal for cycling and walking.
There is a local bar/little shop in Bresdon (10 mins walk), open during the summer months, where local farmers hang out and drink wine. They sell most of the basics such as milk, eggs, bread, etc
There is a restaurant/bar called FC Pougemin in the nearby town of Louzignac (10 mins drive) which hosts a very popular fish and chip night every Friday. The owners are Belgian,
For those who want a more formal meal, there is a very good restaurant in La Pinelle, "La Table du Chef Corvez" (7 minutes by car), which offers very reasonably priced dishes, including French classic

Be respectful of our free-roaming ducks. They are curious and may want to watch you, but don't like humans getting too close. Do not feed them as we have to manage their feeding carefully.
Our roosters will do their business at the first light of day. Although they are on the other side of the property, they can be heard. Our guinea fowls can also make noise from time to time.
As we have free range poultry, we cannot allow pets.
Please dispose of all rubbish and leave the site as you found it.
Be very careful when using the outdoor wood stove or barbecue.
