Come camping off-grid in our food forest and horse paradise with your camper van or tent, or rent one of our brand new hikers' cabins.
At our natural stable we not only house horses in our beautiful horse paradise, but we also offer space for guests who want to experience nature. You can camp here with a lot of privacy, with a view of stray horses. Located in the outskirts of Lunteren on a dead end road, you can still enjoy real silence on our property. No roads or trains. Most of the noise comes from a family of little owls, the neighbor's cows and our horses. Sounds to dream away..
We offer a limited number of nature camping spots and hikers' huts. In the middle of the meadow, in the silence between the horses, or in our yard close to the sanitary house. With us you decide where you prefer to stay.
For campers we have space all year round on the pavement in our yard. In dry conditions, campers can also choose an off-grid spot on our camping meadow.
Separately in our yard is a neat sanitary building with 2 sanitary units. In the low season it is possible to rent a sanitary unit as private sanitary.
Our fire pit and picnic tables are at your disposal and our 2.5ha site gives enough space to find a place to enjoy the silence in privacy and to pick wild blackberries and apples in the summer season.
Wekeromse Zand is 2 kilometers away from our site. The Lunterse neighborhood forest is also easily accessible on foot and by bicycle. The entrance to the Hoge Veluwe and the Kröller-Müller museum is 10 minutes away by car.
The village centers of Lunteren, Barneveld and Wekerom are all about 4 km away from us.
Would you like to bring your own horse?
We have 4 off-grid tent pitches available, each with a private meadow right next to it where you can house your horse (or 2 horses together). This way you sleep right next to your horse and you experience a very unique holiday with and next to your horse.

I really enjoyed this beautiful place! It was very relaxing to be here. I had already been told that there would be a horse training, but this did not bother me at all. The places are spacious.

Nice fire pit where the kids could 'fire'.

Wonderful place, very nice between all the animals! Just a little more geared towards the hikers' cabins (sanitary block is therefore relatively far from the camping pitches). Not a problem in principle, but some people like to know that! Wonderful nature in the area to walk, all kinds of clog paths that are also easy to string together! Nice fresh eggs from the chickens also made the mornings very nice.

Rest, space, nature and horses. Beautifully located small-scale campspace where I fully enjoyed every moment. I had a clear view of the farmlands, a place I could choose myself. Clean shower and toilet, and the food garden and riding school with rescue horses give it that little bit extra and fun to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed this place, thankful 😄

Very friendly, quick response, everything clear, also the video is super handy.
Tips for new guests?
The Lunterschebuurt forest is 1.3 km away, when you exit the yard you turn left, keep following the road (at some point it becomes a bit busier, but it pays off because it is very nice that you then enter the forest running). At the Vijfsprongweg you turn left again, a little further you walk straight into the woods. In the beginning, dogs are also allowed loose. And you also walk to the Center of the Netherlands, check!

I went camping with my kids. They enjoyed it. Now two weeks later they are still talking about the dog, the kittens and the horses and pony. It is wonderful to wake up between the horses. The pitches are not very big, but just big enough for two small tents and a shelter. It is a short walk to the sanitary building, but we were almost always accompanied by Kita, the dog.

I stayed 2 nights on the camping field. I had a nice spot in the back of the field. View over the land and every now and then a horse came to say hello. It was a nice experience among the tall grass, with the sound of the crickets. To be repeated. The camping fields are very nicely made, small paths in the high grass leading to a spot for your tent. I'll definitely return!! Thank you!!

A meadow with nice high grass between the widely spaced spots. And a very nice campfire place. We were the only ones that day so felt nice and free. The horses, which could move freely around the field, were a nice addition, especially when one suddenly galloped past.
And a nice, clean sanitary building!
I would definitely go here again.
How was the contact with the host?
Friendly welcome and there was thought about a surface for a disposable bbq.
Furthermore, we were left nice and 'free', have come to rest wonderfully.

The sanitary facilities are neat and clean and a lovely shower.
You can use the kitchen in the stable with coffee machine (quick filter), kettle, refrigerator and electric hob.

Last Easter weekend we stayed with our rented camper at the beautiful location of Ylvie. It is a very quiet and beautiful place and we were able to pick a spot on the meadow with our camper. We looked out on the horses and sheep that roamed there and beautiful nature. An extra bonus was the wonderful weather we had, so we could enjoy nature and tranquility even more.
Our dog also had a great time. He was allowed to walk around freely and played with Ylvie's sweet dog (labrador) all the time. What a sweetheart her dog is.
We could use the just new sanitary room, which is equipped with 2 showers and 2 toilets and a separate sink to do your dishes. The sanitary area looked neat and clean, the showers were wonderfully warm. The only thing is if you both want to shower at the same time that the water jet is less powerful, but the temperature of the water remains wonderfully warm.
Ylvie is very friendly and welcoming and also flexible when you have questions.
We enjoyed it immensely and will definitely come back!

Ylvie welcomed us warmly and took all the time to show us around her domain. What a beautiful place this horse paradise is. And Ylvie has many plans to make it even bigger and more attractive to more campers. (Sheltered willow spots, camping in a food forest). Although we didn't have a horse in our company, we were allowed to pick a spot wherever we wanted. We chose a spot next to her oldest horse who paid no further attention to these strangers who were standing next to her. Our own sanitary block and a nice campfire made our stay complete. Lovely walk around Wekeromse Zand. (Let Ylvie inform you about the short cut in between to get there on foot.) We will definitely come back! Johan and Wilma

On arrival we were welcomed by an employee of the stable because the host himself was unable to attend. She gave us a tour and helped set up my pony. We could choose where we wanted to put the tent, next to my pony's meadow or at one of the many other nice spots. You can camp here with a lot of privacy or closer to the yard, where the sanitary unit is located. Of course we chose a spot next to the pony. But you can also stand beautifully here without a horse, for example in one of the meadows that are surrounded by bushes.
The area is really great, Lunteren a stone's throw away, with restaurants and shops. The Wekeromse sand, special places such as the Celtic fields and Iron Age farm and the Goudsberg with the center of the Netherlands.
This Campspace is a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Veluwe, with or without your own horse.

We had the honor of being the first camper van to park on a field. What a magical experience. There are three fields - which were previously used for lodging horses - that Ylvie will set up for campers. In any case, a field is planted with fruit trees so that the guests also get some privacy. Many guests at the same time will never be there, because that is not the experience Ylvie wants to give. We thought it was very special to stand on a field with natural vegetation where the horses occasionally remained curious. They soon lost interest, but they liked the campfire in the fire pit again. To go to the shower/toilet you follow the sandy path where the horses are happy to let you pass. It was remarkable that we - who have never actually been in contact with horses - found the animals very sociable very quickly. It is clear that the animals are having a good time here. It made our experience very special. Because where can you camp alone on a large field with a fire pit where you occasionally pet a horse?
How was the contact with the host?
Ylvie is a very enthusiastic hostess who has fascinating stories. For example, she has worked with horses abroad as a biologist. She has arranged the terrain in such a way that the horses can walk around 15 km on a good day. They then walk on a sandy path along the three fields where they graze along the path. It's nice to hear her talk about nature and handling the horses. In the future it may also become a care farm, so that it will have an extra dimension. For the employees and the campers.
Tips for new guests?
We have done a lot with the bicycle. You are close to the center of Apeldoorn. We walked for hours on the heath, through the sand drifts, along the fens and through the woods of the Werkeromse Zand. There you will also pass a reconstructed farm, as it might have looked a long time ago. We found the Wall of Mussert in a residential area near Lunteren. Given its history, it is important that it is preserved. In the vicinity of Lunteren we also saw the neighborhood forest, which was built a long time ago by a notary. In memory of him there is now a beautiful tower from which you have a view of the tree-filled nature.
The bike ride to the national park and the Kroller Muller Museum was also very nice. We have seen so many works of art by famous artists there. The sculpture garden was also impressive. During our visit there was an exhibition by Marinus Boezem. The museum has worked out all his finds. The film gave added value to understand it even better.
Afterwards we saw wild boars and deer in the park. You should actually have more time to view the park (which you pay separately for).

The campsite is located in beautiful surroundings. The sanitary facilities were clean and the use of the kitchenette in the stable with a kettle and sockets to charge the telephones was nice.
Around the field you can enjoy the horses around you. There is also a willow hedge with a fire pit. There we enjoyed the view of frolicking horses at a campfire (bring your own wood!).
We were the only ones so could choose where we wanted to stand and chose a nice dry place. The beginning of the field was too wet in this wet time.
How was the contact with the host?
Fine! Ylvie herself was abroad and responded quickly to messages. Everyone attending live was nice and helpful. We also found the video with instructions in advance very useful.
Tips for new guests?
Bring your own wood if you want to light a fire. There is no wood for sale.

We liked it a lot. We have a large tent and it fit exactly on our spot in the back of the meadow. Nicely covered with tall grass, so you have privacy. Plumbing was simple but fine. Container type with 2 showers/toilets. Very busy on weekends. Group of women for horseback riding. All have their own trailer / car so the site was very full of cars. Lovely to walk between the horses in the morning from tent to toilet. In the stable option for electricity and kettle.
How was the contact with the host?
Super. Friendly.
Tips for new guests?
Bring a fan that can run without electricity. Our tent was like a sauna (there is no shade). Bring a wasp catcher. And bug spray.

Thank you for your review Patty!
Super brave to camp off grid in this heat with your little girl. I hope we were able to infect her a bit with the horse virus! :-)

Beautiful place and wonderfully quiet. The horses give an extra dimension to the place. Personally, we found the sanitary maintenance a big minus. Furthermore, a wonderful stay and central to do fun things!
How was the contact with the host?
Well, the host was there himself a day before we left, but there was someone who received us and showed the way.
Tips for new guests?
Place to relax.

Thank you for your review Misha!
We are sorry to hear that the sanitary facilities were not well maintained during our absence. That is a theme to coordinate better with the babysitter next time in our absence. We clean the sanitary facilities ourselves every evening :-)
See you next time!

Wonderful horse campsite for my daughter who thoroughly enjoyed it!
Nice camping in the middle of the grass and everything nice and loose. Nice also the dog that wants to play with everyone and coincidentally also the farrier came, so there was plenty to see.
Who, what, where was a bit unclear (on arrival, where is the toilet, what can my daughter do with/with the horses…)
How was the contact with the host?
Short and fine. There was also a horse camp going on, so it seemed that a lot of time went into that.
Tips for new guests?
Fun for sure.
It is slightly less quiet (in terms of ambient noise) than the text suggests.

Nice quiet place on the horse farm! Wonderfully quiet with nothing like greenery around you and the sound of all kinds of animals: horses, sheep, cows, goats, and a few dogs.
I also like the smell of the farm air.
We would like to come back in a few years to see here now that it has all become! A lot was still being developed, so we had no shade on the camping site yet. That was the only downside. Trees had just been planted.
How was the contact with the host?
Very good, despite being very busy with the large group of girls from Mini Pony Camp.
Tips for new guests?
Tip: are you with the tent? Wait a little longer until it is all a bit more overgrown for the ultimate beautiful spot, with shade. If you want to go earlier, you can also stand in the yard, a bit more in the shade!

Relax on a slightly bumpy lawn. If you like (watching) horses, you are in the right place because they are all around you and give a happy impression. And the cheerful dog scurrying everywhere in between and found my son as a playmate! Thank you Ylvie for sharing your beautiful spot.

Very nice place in the meadow.
We (my daughter) were very sorry that it was not possible to drive or take care of it.
Referred to the milranche in oath for this.
We missed the drain for chemical toilet.
Furthermore, showers and toilet neat.
How was the contact with the host?
Well, not much spoken, but that was possible.

Hi Anja, thank you for your review.
Indeed, I have indicated in advance that it is not possible to drive with us. Glad you liked the Mills Ranch recommendation!
We are not a riding school, most of our horses are rescues, and horse welfare is our number 1 priority. That's why we don't let strangers with/on/to the horses. It is precisely because of our 'wild' herd that our place is so unique in terms of camping; I hope you enjoyed observing our herd in their most natural habitat!

Beautiful surroundings and exactly as described between the horses. Very nice, even if you don't come especially for that. We can enjoy mountain biking in the area. In addition, Ylvie is a great host. The camping spots literally still have to grow, but it looks very promising :)
How was the contact with the host?
Great, Ylvie is easy to get in touch with online, but also on the site itself.
Tips for new guests?
We camped in March 2022, the 'shelter' has yet to grow, so with wind you are still in an open field. Bring a windbreak if you plan on camping soon.

The only drawback is that you cannot walk straight into the forest. But don't do that to Ylvie.
