About this campspace
Welcome to our mini campsite 800 m from the Markermeer. This was originally an organic market garden with a nature campsite in the West Frisian village of Venhuizen, near the IJsselmeerdijk between Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, we have no harvest this year and the garden has become overgrown. Yet it remains a nice place where you can do what you want.
At our mini campsite you can pitch your tent, caravan or bus camper on one of the spacious pitches, in peace and quiet and in the middle of the greenery. Don't have your own camping equipment? No problem, there are two beautiful yurts for rent, fully equipped.
There are various play equipment for children, such as a trampoline, slide, sandbox and various go-karts and tractors. The garden is home to many chickens and roosters, cats (to cuddle with), dogs and of course many species of birds and insects. Please note that the sanitary building is a bit of a walk away.
We strive for biodynamic horticulture based on strengthening natural growth with attention to soil fertility and diversity in growing crops. We see nature as a connected whole, in which the influence of, among other things, the climate, soil fertility, water pollution, biodiversity and air quality all play a role. This also means that it is not a 'neat and neat' campsite. The grass is uneven, which may make it difficult if you have difficulty walking. The garden is overgrown and weeds and weeds grow deliberately for optimal soil fertility and biodiversity. The wilderness is a place for special plants and insects.
Environment
Enjoy the peace and quiet, between the greenery, agriculture and the panoramic view. Our campsite is located 800 m from the Markermeer, with two beaches. The depth of the water is about 1 meter up to several hundred meters, which is ideal for children, and makes the water temperature just a few degrees more.
Naturally, the area is ideal for walking and cycling along the dike and through the beautiful polder landscape. We are located directly on the popular LF cycling and walking route; the Zuiderzee Route.
The historic town of Enkhuizen is 6 km away with, among other things, the Zuiderzee Museum, Fairytale Wonderland, 'Kindervreugd' playground and the ferry to Stavoren and Urk. VOC city Hoorn is 11 km away and Medemblik is 18 km away.
Various shops can be found in both Venhuizen and Bovenkarspel, both within 3 km of TuinGoed.
In Venhuizen/Hem there is also a nice open-air swimming pool: 't Hemmerven and bicycle rental Rijwielhuis Hem.
