Tent
NB - Due to work in the garden, we will be closed until at least June 1.
Camping spot in the Kanteltuin for naturists. A small to medium-sized tent can be placed at the back of the edible fruit garden. A small tent can be placed near the plum tree. We have 4 garden chairs and a coffee table for you. The tents cannot be seen from the house, so they are wonderfully private. On the other side of the larger spot lives Leon, a European Eagle Owl. The chickens live next door. You can use wheelbarrows to transport your camping gear to your spot in our garden. These places are in the countryside, so countryside sounds are normal here. Barking dogs, the crowing of a rooster, the eagle owl and the many sounds of the birds that visit our garden or that fly over. And sometimes the sounds of neighbors doing odd jobs. Sometimes pheasants also visit. Then it must be very quiet, because as soon as they hear something or see us, they fly away. Here and there a heron comes to see if he can fish some fish from our pond. In short, you can enjoy the deafening silence of nature, full of sounds from the countryside. For those who want to be super healthy, there is a cold outdoor shower (alla Wim Hof), where we take a cold shower almost every morning. Yes really. All year round. It is only not possible if the water is frozen. Being naturist is not a requirement, but the host and hostess are and, as mentioned, they shower outside every morning. So you can come across us naked, you shouldn't object to that. Within cycling distance you will find the Drouwenerzand nature reserve, the nice village of Borger with the dolmen museum and if you want to do some shopping, Stadskanaal is also an option.
You are visiting ONS Kantelhuis, a project in progress of the Herkansing Foundation. Your stay helps to realize a temporary shelter. We make our own donation products from the fruits from the garden. Such as jam, apple sauce, but also our own tomato tapenade, cashew nut paste, and much more. You can have breakfast with our fresh buns, baked from special red wheat or yellow wheat (ancient grains). Come discover our garden and the beautiful surroundings and be welcome in our paradise.

I am Quinta and together with Max we have a paradise garden (permaculture principles). You can come camping in our garden. I share my garden to fund the Herkansing Foundation (your contribution is a donation to the foundation) so that we can realize a shelter for people who can use a time-out. Search ONS Kantelhuis if you want more information. Of course I can tell you all about it when you come camping with us. I am also a researcher and teacher at the Customer Perspective in Support and Care research group and chair of the European Anti Poverty Network. Some idealism is not strange to me ;). You are very welcome to enjoy our little paradise.
