The Estate is made up of 10 hectares of private forest, surrounded by hundreds of hectares of forests and meadows. Our closest "neighbors" are cattle and wild animals (deer, does, foxes, dormice, hares, badgers, squirrels, red kites, jays, woodpeckers, etc.) and the first other humans are 1 km away! An ecological walk on the Domaine can also be offered to you.
The buildings are made mainly of wood and stone. The development of the land is done gradually with what the surrounding nature offers, particularly dead wood.
The Domaine du Chiroux and its Tennessee chalets are a unique “timeless” place in which you live in harmony with nature. Here you will discover pragmatic ecology, that which is dictated directly by the laws of nature, far from the conscientious ecology of the industrial world. During your stay here, you will be made aware of the preservation of the immediate environment, the management of water and energy resources as well as the need to safeguard this planet which cannot offer us more than what nature produces .
Living in a forest means first of all respecting it, loving it and letting it flourish and renew itself. The absorption of CO2 is everywhere here and exceeds the release of CO2 from our tourist activity: from the trees to the low vegetation, a formidable carbon sink surrounds our accommodation and this also represents a resource for birds and insects. The grass is cut late so that all this little animal world can thrive there, in a balance that occurs naturally without pesticides or other products. No watering on the estate, nature manages its water resources. The less we act here on the immediate environment, the more nature prospers...

A former city dweller, I have lived on this forest property for 12 years. State-certified fitness teacher since 1992, aware of ecology for a long time, I love contact with travelers in a relaxed and natural atmosphere.
I am passionate about a certain part of American culture, that of ranches and horses, large natural spaces, country music and the conviviality of a life close to nature.
I can speak English fairly well, so I would be glad to host foreigners who can't speak French but English.
