La forêt du Dragon
About this campspace #s003849

Your host
MarjoleinSmall rural site with views overlooking the Aveyron hills
Near Aubrac Regional Natural Park; five minutes' drive from Murols
Direct access to a river; 15 minutes from the Château de Valon
La Forêt du Dragon may be small in scale, but it certainly punches above its weight in terms of scenic rural surrounds. There are fruit trees all around this leafy site, with a small garden to admire (and tend if you wish) at each and every pitch.
There's plenty of water around keeping this ground green and grassy, including a small stream that can be directly accessed from the site. Mightier nearby rivers include the Goul and the Truyère, and that's without counting the dozens of lakes in nearby Aubrac Regional Natural Park. (Good news for paddling fans, then, or those looking to hike among this area's lush foliage.)
La Forêt du Dragon may be free of fire-breathing monsters, but there's a sculpture park in nearby Murols (five minutes' drive) with many other weird and wacky beasts. The hilltop ruins of the Château de Valon are also close by (15 minutes), so it's easy to imagine how dragons could feel at home in this part of the world…
Back at base, there's a small food shop selling fresh local produce; for bigger food shops, head to one of the supermarkets within a 20-minute drive of the site. Dogs are welcome here.

Hi, I am Marjo and I am very exited about nature and to build a sustainable future together. Therefore I create a food forest with the name La foret du Dragon. It is a terrain in the mountains of France. In this place I made several gardens where it is possible to stay outside in nature.

A nice transit place with beautiful views.

Good!
Tips for new guests?
Keep in mind that everything is very basic. But then you have a toilet with a fantastic view.
The garden is still under construction so not very visible yet.

We popt into a beautiful space in the middle of nowhere. Wondering if the gravel road really would be the one to go to come to that place. And it was. So don`t be afraid of going a bit off grid...
You will have a beautiful view over the valley, see lots of kites (not the one all the hipsters use but the fantastic birds!). Only to the river it is a bit, so it is no camping/living at a river. But lots of options of having a walk or hike.

Lovely!
Tips for new guests?
Just be self-sustaining. Give space to the host as it s her/their home. Don`t mind not having a wc, there are some kompost toillets with awesome and impressing views.

Very cosy! We drank tea together at the campfire and had a nice chat.
Tips for new guests?
Arrive during the day. We arrived in the dark and then it was an adventure to get there.
