On a unique nature reserve in Dranouter/Heuvelland, right on the border with France, Piet offers several unique places, "return to the essence" or "wild yourself". From staying in our guest house or the authentic caravan to old-fashioned camping with your own tent or camper. You stay in the guest house on the edge of the site or you camp on a site in peace and quiet in the orchard, vineyard, hay meadow or grove, with very spacious camp pitches and a view of the hills of the beautiful Heuvelland.
On site you can walk to the vineyard, the food forest, the overgrown forest, the sheep pasture, and the natural swimming hole (where you can take an invigorating dip from 5 meters high).
Or enjoy the wood-fired sauna barrel* and/or one of the hot tubs*!
From spring onwards, ice bath sessions will be organized in an ice bath at 3°C (Wednesday and Sunday) and you can join a silent walk with breathing meditations.
Go back to basics, with plenty of space and nature around you, make a cozy campfire at your pitch and enjoy the things you don't do at home - based on the 'leave no trace' ethic. The 52m2 teepee tent is provided free of charge and you can light a fire in it when it rains. A bridal tent provides access to a refrigerator, kettle and electricity for charging telephones, headlamps, etc. Also offering regional drinks. Everything is deliberately kept very basic, minimalist and natural, including the dry toilets and showers (with the necessary hygiene). You are welcome with your family, loved ones and some friends, and/or four-legged friends!
The region is fantastic for walking or cycling! There is a walking junction and a cycling junction on the site, from which many unpaved (walking) routes start. As an avid walker, Piet is happy to help you find a suitable walking route for you.
You will find several restaurants and cafes within walking or cycling distance. You can cycle into France for fresh croissants and 'une 'baquette', buy French delicacies at a culinary butcher, go to a farmers' cooperative for (organic) vegetables, buy fresh oyster at the weekly market... and you can even catch a live performance at the Folk music center. You can only book our guesthouse and the complete teepee via our website. You can also BOOK ON SITE and pay in cash without extra service costs!
*You reserve and pay for the sauna and hot tub on site, if available. Sauna, private: €45 and hot tub: from €75. ATTENTION, on site: ONLY cash payments (keep your freedom in hand!), NO electronic payment systems! Otherwise via invoicing (+3 euros). We DO NOT accept GROUPS from May to October (or rent completely privately, please inquire)! Be sure to take a look at the many beautiful photos of our past guests at the end of the photo series. Also visit our website for even more information.
In 2024 we will focus even more on 'experience' and 'wilding' yourself at 't Heuvelhof and in Heuvelland.
Adventurers, minimalists and added value seekers who love staying in nature with little luxury, but still that little bit extra. Come and 'rewild' yourself here. NO GROUPS, sorry.

Piet is a 'non-conformist' and a 'free spirit'. He finds his liking in many 'basic' activities: bushcraft, hiking, wild picking, campfire, outdoor cooking, sleeping under stars, climbing, diving, cold therapy, Nordic Cycle, barefoot, meditation, sauna, 'rewild yourself'..., he likes to regularly step out of his comfort zone and train his resilience, and fasting is regularly on his schedule.
He likes to travel to countries with old forests, mountains, rough cliffs... but also to big cities with many different cultures. Alone, with friends and/or his faithful dog.
He grows his own organic vegetables (or picks them in nature) and he breeds animals in a very respectful way, slowly, with the seasons.
He gets other food as much as possible from neighboring befriended (organic) farmers.
He also makes his own natural wine from the vineyard at 't Heuvelhof and makes his own juices from the orchard.
Piet greatly enjoys an intimate, colorful or extravagant company, but also complete solitude.
Visit the many local vineyards and taste our delicious wines. Wine terraces.
Walk and cycle on and around the beautiful hills, right on 'de schreve' of Flanders and French Flanders. Visit the picturesque villages. Many junction routes and other routes along our site.
In Bailleul there is a market on Tuesday morning and Thursday in the evening. Also organic vegetables. There is also a farmer's shop with fresh produce.
At 1 kilometer a brown pub with more than 500 beers and own wine.
Within walking distance. It is best to book restaurants in high season.

Water-saving measures
The entire yard is maintained in an ecological way. Plants are given plenty of space to grow and bloom. Mowing is done where necessary. No use of chemical pesticides, etc.
Our vineyard is organically maintained. We use our own water extraction and good filtering. Everything in the yard is dominated by nature, in which 'human beings' are only a small link. If you come to camp on our site, we apply the 'leave no trace' ethic; you leave our premises in the same condition as you found it. All waste is also taken back (excluding compostable waste or paying option).
Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.
Few rules, take advantage of it to simply enjoy nature!
We apply the 'leave no trace' ethic for the camping pitches. Have respect for nature, yourself and others, we are one and indivisible.
If in doubt, talk to each other or agree with each other about how and what. We do not 'interfere' with the contact between our visitors. We also work completely on trust and there are few restrictions. We would also like to point out that everyone is welcome with us, with or without a certificate or pass; and this will remain so. We don't judge anyone by their choice. On departure, your place will be left as it was on arrival, so all waste will be taken back (excl. compostable or paying option).
IMPORTANT: OPEN FIRE, only allowed in our fire bowls approved by the municipality! So no barbecue sets that are used for an open fire; we have to be strict about that, thank you for your understanding.
No amplified music allowed on site. Quieter after 10:30 PM.
Extra services can only be paid for on site in cash, so no electronic payment systems!
Can we also ask to use some biodegradable detergents (shampoo, dishwashing liquid, etc.)?
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, we cannot accept GROUPS >5 people if there are other guests, because this would have too great an impact. Groups must rent the teepee and grounds privately.
Some small, obvious agreements can be viewed/read in our tipi and we expect to know them.
