A paved forest path does not reveal anything of this special open natural spot in the vast forests around Arnhem and Schaarsbergen. A rare special place to experience peace, nature and privacy. We offer a camping spot next to our farmhouse. The deer and foxes forage in the garden here.

Do you want to do nothing and relax or be active? You can do both. The camping site is located on the Veluwezoom cycling route and junction route. With the LF4 you only have to go around a little bit. Within cycling distance you will find the Open Air Museum and the 'Burgers Zoo' zoo. The camping site is practically next to the 'De Hoge Veluwe' National Park with the beautiful Kroller Muller museum with the Van Goghs.

Within walking distance there is a pancake house where you can eat delicious. Within cycling distance you will find the bakery in Schaarbergen for fresh bread rolls. You can also cycle or take the bus (Line 9) to Arnhem-Centre for more eateries, to Focus the beautiful movie theater or Klarenbeek or the open-air swimming pool.

For the children there is the forest to discover, to hide and to play. On the grounds there are also various play equipment such as a hut, climbing tower and trampoline.

We used the winter months to build a heated room with shower and toilet for the camping guests. There is a fridge that you can use. The outdoor shower is still available.

We strive to always keep a spot in the large garden for adventurers who want to spend the night on foot or by bike. Use is made of the shared toilet and shower.

Welcome to Camping in the Woods.
We, Henk-Jan and Janneke, live with our family and small animals (dog Fiep, 3 chickens and 1 rooster, cat Loes, cat Simba and foster rabbit Perry) in an idyllic spot in the woods.
You will find our camping spot within cycling distance of the center of Arnhem and practically next to Park de Hoge Veluwe. We love sustainable travel and think Home Exchange and Campspace are a great concept to share our place in the woods.
The camping spot is perfect for cyclists, hikers and other adventurers.

We really enjoyed the Campspace of Janneke and Henk-Jan! A place to dream of, overlooking the forest. In the morning you wake up to bird and chicken sounds. Near Arnhem and many opportunities for cycling and walking. The sanitary facilities were also very clean and luxurious! We will definitely come back to this idyllic spot!

Beautiful place with fine and luxurious facilities. Lovely wooded area. You can walk in all directions from your tent. And is welcomed back by the wild flowers.
Nice base for Arnhem, the Hoge Veluwe National Park and much more.

Janneke and HenkJan are very friendly and hospitable. We even enjoyed a freshly laid egg. By the way, did you know that your rooster kicks the opening tune of 'The good, the bad and the ugly'?

Tips for new guests?
The sound of the A-12 is clearly audible in your tent.

Perfect, warm welcome. fine, because hot is small scale. I do have a problem with booking and paying when I'm on the road and don't have a computer and payment option. On the way to Ermelo during cycling holiday.

Friendly and helpful and very welcoming. Very much enjoyed the location, the facilities and the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended and I would love to come back again. Cool mountain bike route nearby and of course all the beauty of the Veluwe. Seen so many wild animals (deer, boar, horses, roe deer)! Pancake house within walking distance.

After my first Campspace adventure, I was so hyped and excited about this sustainable camping experience that I definitely wanted to do it again. So, when my boyfriend and I had the opportunity to go on another Campspace adventure, we almost immediately packed our stuff. We were planning to go to the Eifel in Germany to see the lovely fall woods there. Unfortunately, that was not possible due to COVID, so we decided to search for a Campspace near the Veluwe. Before our stay, the contact with the host was already very pleasing; she replied very fast and she sounded very kind so we were very excited to meet her.

When we arrived at the Campspace, we were warmly welcomed with coffee and chocolates. The hosts gave us maps of the national parcs and the city of Arnhem, for us to keep and use until we would leave. After we pitched our tent in their lovely big garden, we went on the tandem that we were allowed to use to explore the city of Arnhem. The next view days were filled with hikes to places such as the national parc the Hoge Veluwe and the Veluwezoom.

What made this adventure so special for us was a combination of both the openness of the hosts and the lovely autumn nature around the Campspace. The woods and national parc are easily accessible and even the city centre of Arnhem is very close to the Campspace. Besides, the whole garden is adjusted to Campspace because it is both very big and there even is a separated small wooden house with a toilet and a place to sit if the weather would be very bad.

In short, my boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at this Campspace because we were able to escape the busy Randstad for a few days by walking and sleeping in an environment that was completely surrounded by woods, but where all the services we would want were available.

We enjoyed a lot. Henk-jan and Janneke can give good tips about the area and the place in their garden is very nice and cozy. The surroundings are of course beautiful, right between the Veluwezoom and De Hoge Veluwe. There is a tandem you can grab and we definitely recommend using it!

A big 5! What a beautiful place and what a heartwarming nice host and hostess Henk Jan and Janneke are. We enjoyed in the middle of the woods near Arnhem and imagined ourselves in France. There is so much to do in the area that we ran out of time. We are fans of this campspace and will definitely come back. And we are also fans of campspace! So beautiful that people want to share their beautiful place with others

My partner and I stayed at Janneke's place for two nights and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

First off, Janneke and her husband were very hospitable and welcoming. They really made us feel comfortable to use their facilities as if they were our own! The campsite was the perfect getaway from the city offering the chance to wake up surrounded by greenery (accompanied of course by the rooster!).

The campsite has everything you need for a short stay in nature. It was great having a picnic table outside to eat our breakfast whilst enjoying the sun.

Overall, this experience exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend.

Janneke was very welcoming. Her house is amazing, with so much space around. She quickly handed us some warm tea and chocolate to warm up. She saved us from a night in the wild, as our other accommodation didn’t work out. She answered quickly and happily helped us arrive on the phone. We could choose our own place to camp, hopefully not too close to the early-waking rooster. We had our dinner and breakfast on the picnic table, while looking at the wild flowers and the immense forest around. They even had a tandem bike for us to explore around. Their lovely dog is super excited to see people.

The location is amazing, a large garden that’s flows over into the woods. The accommodation is clean and simple, including an outside shower!

During our stay the weather was wonderful, so we enjoyed the pool very much. It was refreshing during the heatwave.

The hosts and their children and pets are very nice! We felt very welcomed! They explained a lot on wildlife spots, the old house, and to accept the rooster... who waked us very early, but that completed our weekend in nature and to start the day with a nice morning walk!

The hosts were very friendly and the location was nice. The house is down a gravel road and is surrounded by trees. There are walking and biking trails behind the house. There was a picnic table set up for us to use and an outdoor shower.
