We have been living in a very special place in Nigtevecht since September 1, 2020.

A stone's throw from the Vecht.
And the canal connecting with our backyard.

It is so special that our house has been a pounder's house.
From here the pound crossed the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal for years, where on average thousands of ships sail per year.

We like to share our happiness and special place.

The camping space is cute and has room for 2-3 cars.
It's location is nice on the canals but not the most quiet, since there are lots of ships driving but we liked it anyhow.
The view in the morning is perfect and it's close to Amsterdam.
The toilet is okay and the sanitary rooms will be upgraded soon, so showers and cleaning your dishes will be more easy, for now it's okay to use.
If we come back to Amsterdam we will definitely stay here again.

The owners are really nice and speak English and even a bit German.

Arrival:
On arrival we were shocked by the view. We were very warmly welcomed.

The place:
The camper place on this "camping" in a backyard is absolutely not suitable for campers who love greenery, peace and space. Close to the water, but you share a kind of terrace (for your own place) with other guests.

We arrived with our small VW camper including awning and dog. The only camper place is at the front of the garden next to a shipping container on the path and there you have little to no privacy because you are expected to keep a walkway clear next to it. Our own fault is that we unfortunately did not communicate well in advance about the space and the surface that we expect (but which we, as novice campers, took for granted). The space was too small and too hard and due to the high risk of damage to our new air awning of 2 by 3 with a fixed ground sheet, it was not suitable to place on these stones.

The facilities:
The toilet is a blue construction dixie with a kind of self-made dixie shower next to it. We did not look at the jacuzzi…

In general, the “camping” looked very messy and not fresh. They were cleaning up but you pay full price.

Conclusion:
Unfortunately, it was not at all to our standards and expectations and we therefore immediately left. We did not get money back because of the Easter weekend. To accommodate us, Angelina would try to get it rented out so that she could return the money. Unfortunately, that turns out not to have been possible for last Saturday and Sunday (8 and 9 April 2023) and have therefore not received anything in return.

All in all, the quality compared to the price is therefore completely out of proportion for us.

Fortunately, we found another campsite that met our expectations that day

How was the contact with the host?
Very good. Responds quickly and kindly and tries to think along. Immediately went on the defensive that camper spots are always paved and small and that is why she always asks for the size of the camper. We have communicated in advance that this is our first camping trip and that it concerns a VW van with a small awning. This was no problem. Small awning is therefore debatable; what is small for one is large for the other.

Tips for new guests?
Everyone has different standards and expectations. Judge yourself!
