Tent
On this private piece of meadow of 100 m² you have a beautiful view of the Berendrechtse Buitenmolen and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
The camp site
You always have the camping spot all to yourself. There is room for several smaller or 2 larger tents and a maximum of 8 people. The basic facilities are: 1 drinking water tap, 1 socket, 1 compost toilet and 1 'sunset bench'.
The site is located 70 meters from the street, at the intersection of the slow roads Berendrechtsvoetpad and Toon Verbraakpad. It is surrounded by bushes that, like the surrounding meadows, are full of life.
All the woodwork on the camping site has been recovered and assembled together with miller Jorn: from beams washed ashore in the Galgeschoor - Lillo, over discarded meadow poles to pallets ready to burn.
Area
The mill turns often, and there is a cozy cafe with terrace, toddler playground, trampolines and mini golf.
There is still a lot of nature and heritage in Berendrecht-Zandvliet-Lillo. Here you are halfway between Antwerp and Bergen op Zoom (both 20-25 km). But also on the border of Polder and Kempen, of rural villages and port industry, of Flanders and the Netherlands.
On an excursion
This is the ideal starting point for one-day walking and cycling tours in the area or further afield, such as the Molenwandelroute, the Gansrijdersroute (bicycle), the walking routes of Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, the district routes around heritage and nature, back and forth to Yerseke (food & drinks), Wemeldinge (beach), Scheldeoord (beach), Lillo-Doel-Emmadorp (Schelde and Saeftinghe), Bergen op zoom (historical town), ...
But it is also a nice stop on a multi-day trip past mini campsites, such as a 'Rondje Westerschelde' with ferries Lillo-Liefkenshoek and Breskens-Vlissingen or a 'Rondje Zeeland' via Willemstad, Tiengemeten, Goedereede, Westenschouwen, Dreischor, Zierikzee, Oranjezon, Veere, Ellewoutsdijk, Nisse, Scheldeoord, Wemeldinge, Yerseke and many more…
Spotted
Animals seen from the campsite: hare, buzzard, barn swallow, finch, oystercatcher, rabbit, field mouse, blackbird, spoonbill, horse, wood pigeon, jackdaw, swift, human, frog, sparrow, greenfinch, rare bird, falcon, house martin, blue heron, blue tit, greenfinch, turtle dove, bat, owl, ...
