About this campspace

"Feather and Fern" is our wonderful place at the foot of the Alps, surrounded by forests, streams, mountains and vastness. We bought our alpine pasture between the Valle Sacra and Valchiusella four years ago and awoke it from a nearly 40-year-long slumber. Little by little, we made room after room habitable and cultivated the land. Last year, we opened our doors to people whose hearts and souls were calling for this very place. A place of silence, of connection with nature, of connection with oneself, a place of simple living and honest contact with the residents.

Would you like to live simply and close to nature for a while? Breathe clear mountain air and drink fresh, living spring water? Go on mountain hikes from your doorstep? Bathe in the moonlight? Listen to the sound of the nearby stream and the call of the cuckoo and maybe finally hear your own voice again? Go hiking or mountain biking on single trails, trail parks and ramps?

Feather and Fern offers 6 different types of accommodation: yurt, tiny house, apartment, room, retreat site and camper site. The main house is in the center, where you will also find the shared hot outdoor shower and a bathroom. There is electricity and fresh mountain spring water at or in the accommodations.

The outdoor shower has glass doors and offers a picturesque view of the valley, but does not have the privacy that some people may be used to.
We live on site and are available for contact.

For our guests we also offer:
- Breakfast
- Dinner

For perfect relaxation and recreation, there is the possibility of:
- Full body massage ceremony (~2.5h)
- Yoga
- Contact with horses, riding

These offers are not included in the price and can be booked on site.

We ask our guests to treat the peace and nature with respect and to refrain from using drugs on our premises.

Tips

  • There are great hiking and mountain bike trails starting directly from the house.

  • Within 20 minutes by car you can reach beautiful bathing spots on the clearest rivers in Italy with small beaches or cliffs to jump off.

  • Within 10-40 minutes drive you can reach a weekly market every day of the week

  • The spiritual community of Damanhur with its underground temples of humanity is definitely worth a visit.

  • There are various restaurants and cafés within 10-30 minutes by car.

    In the immediate vicinity, but only accessible by car, there are several lakes near Ivrea, some of which are also suitable for swimming.

    A 20-minute drive away, there are wonderful, clear rivers with swimming spots. Some have cliffs for jumping off or small beaches. Some rivers even have drinking water quality.

  • Mountains

    In an hour you reach the Gran Paradiso National Park, which is incredibly beautiful.

    The former royal city of Turin (approx. 1 hour) and Milan (approx. 2 hours) are far enough away but close enough to reach. The cities of Ivrea and Castellamonte are closer.
