About this campspace

A small-scale campsite on the meadow behind with lots of privacy, peace and space. You can see Sneek, but it is still surrounded by vast meadows. From the camping site you can walk straight into the adjacent 6 hectare park, which is managed by the city farm. In summer our horses graze here. There is a wide ditch around the camping site and there is an almost completely unobstructed view, with birds of prey, grazing horses and sheep as a background. You hear a lot of frogs and now and then a deer walks! Children can enjoy climbing trees, building rafts, picking flowers and interacting with animals. The farm is still in development and we hope that our guests will want to think along with us and inspire us to make this beautiful place even more beautiful!

The farm is located on 2.4 hectares of land. There is a horse trough, a terrace with trampoline and sandpit, a large vegetable garden and several stables. We also have a local produce shop with a terrace, where you can buy cold drinks, ice cream, dairy products and vegetables. You can also buy local beer and wine here to take to your tent. There is a parking lot at the front where you can park your car. For our camping guests there is a freezer, refrigerator and washing machine to use.


THE CAMPING FIELD


The camping field is located behind the farm, far from the (very quiet) public road. The field is surrounded by a wide ditch and has a view of the meadows and the horses in the adjacent park. You can watch the sun go down here beautifully! There is room for 15 places. The sanitary building is located in the former cubicle shed and has separate ladies and gentlemen's areas, with a total of 5 toilets and 2 showers. It does have a step, so it is not easily accessible for the disabled. In the field is also our vegetable garden, where you can pick herbs and lettuce. There is also a covered seating area in the stable where you can play games or lounge. There are several water and power points on the site for general use, both indoors and outdoors.
ACTIVITIES


A few times a week, children can help with the care of the animals, such as feeding chickens and grooming ponies. Small children (up to 8 years) can take a ride on the Shetland ponies under supervision.

AREA


The beautiful city of Sneek with its many terraces, shops and old buildings is just a few minutes by bike. At 5 minutes cycling you can swim in the Zwette (canal). The Sneekermeer is 7 km away, where you can go swimming, sailing and water skiing. There are many restaurants within cycling distance that also deliver to the campsite. At 11 km you will find the most beautiful tropical swimming paradise in the North (in our opinion), SwimFun in Joure. Visit the 11 cities such as Sloten and Hindeloopen, eat some fish in picturesque Makkum, go wind- or kitesurfing for a day in Workum, rent a canoe or SUP board, there is a lot to do in beautiful Friesland.

Very quiet and spacious campsite. All guests were very considerate. Toilet and showers were great. We arrived with a 6m van. Everything went well and the parking space was very large. We were in Holland for the first time and spontaneously arrived at this wonderful, nice little campsite and felt at home straight away and would have stayed longer, but our holiday plans included France for us this year so we were only passing through. First of all the contact with Herma was super easy through the website. Also upon arrival she took me around the campspace showing me all the things: toilets, shower/ free use of eco vegetable garden/ fireplace and small store with cheeses from the nearby farms, fresh eggs, veggies, milk and yoghurt.

Both Herma and Johannes are such easy going kind and caring people who totally leave you your space but if you want info about the possibilities around are happy to tell you about it and give you tips. Kids can take horsebackriding class or supp/kano and swim in the pound. They just started this year setting up their dream and they are enthuastic with tons of ideas and open to any suggestions.

The location was great, close to Sneek, but still really in nature at a beautiful farm. Also easy to reach without a car. We came by public transport and rented a bicycle in Sneek. The tent is very spacious, equipped with many comforts. The sanitary facilities are clean and the atmosphere at the campsite was relaxed. The vegetable and herb garden was a nice bonus. Contact with the hosts was very good. Nice, involved people!
Please note: it is a real family campsite. We were in between two families and had to really conform to that (quiet early in the evening, awake very early). That it is a family campsite was of course also stated in the advertisement.

The farm was a pleasant place to stay with the tent, very relaxed. The only downside in my opinion was the plumbing. The showers were too small so it was difficult to keep your clothes dry and the sanitary facilities are housed in a stable. Because of this there were a lot of mosquitoes so it was not pleasant to us. This also partly has to do with the fact that our daughter reacts violently to mosquito bites.
