About this campspace
We offer you a quiet spot for a relaxing overnight stay or to camp on our private property in the village, just a few kilometers from the Harz mountains.
We have a lot of space and you can choose your own spot around our house when you arrive. Please note: We have a lot of inquiries from people who want to come to us with campers. Unfortunately, we have no space for campers or caravans directly on the property. If you want to spend the night in your vehicle, you can park it under our carport, directly adjacent to the property. The vehicle must be no more than 2.10 meters high. You can also use our cozy covered terrace with table and chairs.
The fire pit is available for your use. There is always firewood available in the adjacent stream.
A small charcoal grill is available and can be used.
For the summer we have a large wooden pool in the garden, which you are welcome to use after consulting with us.
From here you can go on excellent cycling or hiking tours in the mountains or take a relaxing bike ride through the surrounding fields.
Experienced cyclists can reach the Brocken at 1142 m in about 2 to 3 hours. But please remember that you should have suitable bikes for this. You can also rent bikes in nearby Ilsenburg or in Wernigerode.
The cycle paths in all directions are right next to it and you are immediately in nature. By bike you can reach the tourist town of Wernigerode in about 30 minutes. You can reach Ilsenburg in about 20 minutes. Goslar and Bad Harzburg can also be reached quickly by bike.
Hiking tours can also be started from here. There are several bus stops nearby from which buses run regularly towards Wernigerode and Ilsenburg.
Our property is located directly on the Via Romea pilgrimage route, which leads from northern Germany to Rome, making us the perfect stopover for all pilgrims.
In the small town of Veckenstedt you also have the opportunity to go shopping at the local market at normal discount prices. There are also numerous regional specialties here. The market is about 10 minutes' walk from our garden. There is also a bakery, which is also open on Sundays.
If you like eating fish, the Teichwirtschaft Veckenstedt is recommended, here you can get fresh fish and fish sandwiches, and if you like fishing, there is also a fishing pond with trout, eel, pike, sturgeon, catfish, carp and zander.
The A36 motorway is only a 5-minute drive away, so you are welcome to stay with us if you are just passing through (don't worry, the motorway is far enough away so your peace and quiet will not be disturbed at any time).
If you stay with us, you can shower and use the toilet in the house next door. The bathroom is fully equipped and you have drinking water and electricity. The sanitary facilities are for your exclusive use during your stay; they are not used by other people and are thoroughly cleaned after each rental.
If you arrive by car, you can park it under our carport (maximum height of the vehicle 2.10 meters).
If you wish, I can give you some insider tips on hiking, cycling or other interesting places.
We do not rent out our garden twice, so you will always be undisturbed and will not have to share the sanitary facilities.
We are very child-friendly and have a lot of equipment for children on site. A high chair is available and there is also a large sandpit in the garden that you are welcome to use. There is also a children's playground nearby and a stream right on the property.
If you come to us with children, we ask you to keep a close eye on your little ones, as not every corner of our large garden can be made completely child-safe and our property is not completely fenced in. Otherwise, your children will be delighted and can even play by the stream with us.
