Circular mini-campsite on sustainable Landgoed Rorik in the polder.
About this campspace #s005294

Your host
AtseCome and stay in one of our unique circular houses or pitch your tent at our mini campsite in the Noord-Hollandse polder. Our location is a new place where we figure out how we can live together, (organically) farm, build, work and relax as sustainably as possible.
We are still working hard to make our dream come true, we are not done yet. Be welcome to experience, think along and taste in 2022.
In addition to the campsite, the estate consists of a wine garden, an apple and pear orchard, an organic market garden and 30 hectares of organic farming. And this year there will also be a greenhouse restaurant.
We are 25 minutes from Amsterdam and 15 minutes from the beach of Wijk aan Zee. There are beautiful cycling routes in the area.
Bring your boots, because with rain it is muddy. Also pack your guitar for a campfire session around the large fireplace. And don't forget your binoculars, because the buzzards / harriers / kestrels fly around your ears! Also occasionally blue metal birds fly over 🛩. After all, we are centrally located on the edge of the Randstad. Children are welcome: no rockers here, but real ones. No animation team, but plenty of clay, water and nature to discover and adventure.
Atse and Maartje and their children Lux and Borre wish you a warm welcome!

My name is Atse and together with Maartje and children Lux (12) and Borre (9) we have set up Camping Rorik. 2 years ago we sold our house and started building camping Rorik. From a lawn to a cozy campsite. Come pioneer and figure out with us!

We had a great time on the small, very familiar campsite in the nature near Beverwijk.
How was the contact with the host?
There was contact when booking only on the day of arrival itself, we didn't really meet anyone. Everything was pretty self-explanatory. But maybe it would be good to communicate some kind of response times so that we can coordinate upon arrival.
Tips for new guests?
There are bikes on site that can be used, which is very convenient as it takes away all your worries.
It is good to arrive by car, as it is a bit out of the way, or you have a precise plan in advance of how to get to the campsite on foot and not to transport too heavy luggage. Unfortunately, there is no bus connection.

Funny and beautiful concept. Still looks a bit messy but that's how it is presented. There is still much work to be done, so to speak. Very nice owners. However, really a fam campsite. We didn't really know so noise after 10 pm was desired. We found that to be a real downside. Make a nice place just outside the hearing of the tents for the people who want to make it later.
How was the contact with the host?
Nice and smooth
Tips for new guests?
Few shady spots in front of the tent. Bring something to create shadows

We will definitely come back. Thanks!

Great project in a super nice atmosphere! We were there with our camper and felt immediately welcome by Maartje and her husband. There is a lot to discover on the extensive property, va. for children. Feed chickens, drive vehicles, make fires. The Tiny Houses are particularly lovingly and creatively designed. Nothing is perfect but all the more human! A bit like Pippi Longstocking. Some things are still under construction and not finished yet. There are cottages with toilet and warm shower and fresh water is also there. Unfortunately for me too many sources of noise (airport approach path, motorway, agriculture, construction site). If that doesn't bother you and if you're not sensitive to mud, you'll have a great and sociable time here.
How was the contact with the host?
Super accommodating and prompt! A heartfelt thank you! 🌟
Tips for new guests?
Be sure to bring rubber boots and dirt-resistant clothing in rainy weather 💦

How was the contact with the host?
Contact was smooth and fast.
Tips for new guests?
Don't expect a standard. There is still plenty of building and making, but if you look through it you will be surprised.

After a beautiful day of touring North Holland by motorbike, we settled down with 2 friends at the end of the afternoon on the estate that is under development.
We received a very hospitable welcome and were impressed by the ambitions and story of the estate. There is a very nice atmosphere and between the fields, fruit trees, vineyard and tiny houses we were given all the space and freedom to find the best spot. There was an active search and we did indeed find a top spot for our tents. We were allowed to use the facilities of a cottage whose guests had canceled last minute which was not necessary, but very comfortable.
We were allowed to use wood for a fire on which we came to cook. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would love to come back.
How was the contact with the host?

What a nice place to stay, an estate under construction with all kinds of artistic houses. Everything is possible and everything is allowed as a reward to end the day with a large campfire and get up with fresh eggs from the chickens on the estate. The kids loved it and we look forward to coming back soon.
How was the contact with the host?
