About this campspace

ATTENTION:
- The site to change, and apparently the prices too! It's going to take me a while to get back into the swing of things and get everything up to date.
- The access road is not in very good condition, with all the rain there has been this year (presence of ruts in several places)! it is still passable by rolling gently in delicate places.
- We are not present on the ground.

I therefore offer you the pitches on this land with free access, without running water or electricity but with self-managed dry toilets and solar shower, the 200 liter tank of the latter will be filled every Wednesday (or contact me by telephone if it is empty before to see when I can come and fill it), there is also a 1000 liter water tank available on the ground.

On a plot of 6000m2, quiet but perhaps shaded despite some young trees, 150m from the road, you will have free access to approximately 2000m2, two pitches are available (+ another small one which will only be used from time to time for emergency purposes ).
If you can't find availability, feel free to message me to check.

Located in the middle of nature, at the end of a dirt path of around 250m (not flat but passable path), there are trees but they are still too young to fully benefit from their shadows.
The nearest houses are 150m away.
A small pond with water lilies which is not deep, around 1m50 and which may dry up during the summer. It will therefore be advisable to be careful with children who do not know how to swim.

A road passes about 150m from the land, it's quite far however depending on the direction of the wind you can hear some cars in the distance when they drive fast.

You have free access to a large part of the land which is clean, on another part of the land which is not freely accessible (except on the path), there is a bit of mess which is however not very visible .

Activities
BEACHES:
- The closest beach (Plage de la Voirie sud) is 6 minutes by bike, 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car
- La Boirie beach (with its beach huts, near the port) is 7 minutes by bike, 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot.
- The Sub-region beach (north of St Denis) is 9 minutes by bike, 6 minutes by car or 33 minutes on foot.

MARKET & CITY CENTER:
- The St Denis market every morning (where we will be present from Saturday to Wednesday on our Thai cuisine stand) and the city center (many shops and supermarkets) are 6 minutes by bike, 21 minutes on foot or 4 minutes by car.

PORT:
- The port of St Denis is 9 minutes by bike, 28 minutes on foot or 4 minutes by car. There you will find restaurants, a funfair, the laundromat as well as boat departures for the island of Aix and La Rochelle.

LA BREE LES BAINS:
- The center of La Brée (market and shops) is approximately 8 minutes by bike, 5 minutes by car and 30 minutes on foot.

WATER ACTIVITIES :
- several water activities are available nearby, sailing school, surf schools, paddles, etc...

CHASSIRON:
- The Chassiron lighthouse is 15 minutes by bike, 7 minutes by car or 54 minutes on foot.

Other remarks
ATTENTION! INFLATABLE MATTRESS: If you come with a tent and an inflatable mattress, provide protection for the latter, in fact, it has happened that a person has burst their mattress on small pieces of brambles which can be lying on the ground! If you have this type of mattress, plan to put protection underneath just in case. I cannot be held responsible if this inconvenience happens to you, hence this prevention message. Thank you for your understanding.

NUISANCES:
- A fairly busy road passes 150m away and you can hear certain cars when they go fast depending on the direction of the winds.
- You may be visited by mosquitoes but this is a normal thing in summer in Oléron.
- There are a few hens about 50m from the pitches, with a rooster who crows in the morning (dwarf rooster, therefore less voice than the big ones).
- depending on the direction of the winds, in the evening you can also hear the bustle of the campsites located about 1km to the east.

Cancellation Policy

Rules

TIMETABLE:
- There are no set times, but the site must be free by noon if another person is scheduled to arrive after you (if you want to leave later, or arrive earlier, you can park elsewhere on the site in the meantime).

CAMPING CARS, TRUCKS & large caravans:
- These vehicles cannot access the site, as the entrance is too narrow (converted vans and caravans of 5m or less pass through without problem).

SOME IMPORTANT RULES :
- Waste sorting is very restrictive on Oléron!
- There's a compost bin on the site where you can put all organic waste (if you have oyster shells or similar waste, you can put them on the path at the entrance to the site to try and plug up the ruts) :-)
- As for the yellow bags, there are free containers for plastic, paper and other recycling waste everywhere in the villages.
- On the other hand, if you still have household garbage left over after sorting, it gets very complicated because the public containers for this type of rubbish are locked with codes! I don't have a solution for this problem other than to find the few public containers still available, but if you sort your garbage well, you shouldn't have much left.
- Don't cut any trees or shrubs (unless you have my permission).
- Save water, don't let it run for nothing, it's hard to get back into the tanks.
Thank you all very much.

Having traveled for several years in a converted van, we know that it is quite difficult to find quiet places to pitch your van or tent, especially in tourist places. We discovered home-camping recently and this motivated us to develop my land to accommodate travelers for a day or more.
