Hello , first of all I prefer prevention than cure :
- I do not accept stays of 1 night, please do not insist :-)
- I also don't accept delays of more than 30 minutes if you haven't told me in advance, as I have to pick you up in the village.
As soon as you have validated your reservation, please give me an arrival time between 11am and 1pm if possible, otherwise I will try to accommodate an arrival between 6pm and 8pm maximum.
- We reach the site by a 5-minute drive from the village of Gariguella along a dirt and gravel path.
Now that the important points have had a chance to be read, let me introduce myself :-)
I'm François, a 43-year-old Frenchman who left Toulouse in 2022 to be closer to the mountains and the sea.
I welcome you to my small organic olive grove 35 minutes from the French border and 15 minutes from the first magnificent beaches around Llança or Roses ( 25 min for Almadrava ).
10 min from Peralada Castle / Golf / Casino
15 min from Figueres for shopping or the DALI Museum and 15 min from Roses or Empuriabrava for the Fiesta, local markets, parachute jumping or boat and jet ski trips, for example.
30 minutes from Cadaquès and 50 minutes from the panoramic restaurant at Cap de Creus, a must-see, as is Cap de Norfeu.
The surrounding landscape is sumptuous, especially the coast between Portbou and Roses, filled with small turquoise coves.
If you like hiking or mountain biking, you'll love the small mountains.
Diving, water sports and good food are also among the most popular activities.
We're just 5 minutes from a typical Catalan village called Gariguella, with all the amenities you need, including a petrol station open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., lots of good-value restaurants, a few bars, the agricultural cooperative for wine, cosmetics and local produce, the mill for olive oil and by-products, the 2 honey producers, the bank, the tobacconist's, the butcher's, the chemist's and, above all, the unmissable SOL l'herboriste (the natural pharmacy that's well worth a visit).
A children's park with ping pong and numerous sports facilities are accessible in the village by car, but also on foot or by bike from the grounds :-)
I don't have any neighbors who live in the same valley as me, but the site is secure and watched over by forest rangers and neighboring hunters and farmers.
We protect each other because we're in the middle of a nature reserve where there's a risk of fire, so smoking is strictly forbidden except in your tent or in a communal area set aside for the purpose.
Between sea and mountains, surrounded by olive trees, holm oaks and vines, we breathe the pure air of the garrigue, filled with thyme, lavender and other Mediterranean plants...
A view of the Pic du Midi and sunset over the Pyrenees.
An ideal spot for stargazing, meditation or yoga.
The temperature rarely exceeds 32°C in midsummer, and there's often a refreshing breeze.
The climate is very mild and sunny in winter (between 15 and 20°C even in December and February, with a little cooler temperatures in January).
It's not unusual to come across wild boar, deer, hinds, foxes and hares at nightfall...
There's little noise, but you can sometimes hear hunters' dogs or cars/trains in the distance, depending on the wind direction...
The activities
Walks and discovering the surrounding nature.
We're on one of the many hiking trails that leads to the top of a mountain in 30 minutes from the site (an unmissable viewpoint).
The site itself will improve day by day, with games for young and old.
Petanque and MOLKY are already available, as are rackets for ping pong in the village or even badminton on the field.
Everything is possible in the surrounding area: hiking around Cap de Creus, Gariguella turtle reserve, visits to vineyards and castles, scuba diving, horseback riding, boating, paddle boarding, jet skiing, kite surfing, fishing, fruit picking, bars, restaurants, Dali museum, Peralada casino and golf course, shopping in Roses and Empuriabrava, go-karting, Aquabrava's giant waterslides, parachute jumping, cuckoo rides, night clubs, medieval villages, waterfalls, rivers ..
Other things
I refuse all last-minute bookings as my days are often full and I'm not necessarily on site all the time.
I prefer long stays and offer you one night for any stay of more than 6 nights (to be confirmed with me on arrival).
One-night stays are quite restrictive for me, so I almost always refuse them unless you've been here before or there are several of you in a converted vehicle.
This place is reserved for people who are calm, clean and respectful of the environment and life in general.
The local authorities can come very quickly, as they have already shown me, so I must insist that this place is reserved for benevolent people.
Please consult the site rules, which are quite specific and restrictive, but essential to the long-term smooth running of the site.

After living for 20 years around Toulouse chasing money, I decided to change my life.
From now on I enjoy life in peace while creating a major project which one day may see the birth of a land of food abundance, a place of life shared between people aware of the living and of the chance we have to live in this preserved nature ...
I love everything around me and I make the most of it by hiking, sailing, paddle boarding, tasting good local wines etc, etc
I speak French and English (I'm learning Spanish)

Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.
There are strict rules for everyone's well-being:
- There is no address to reach the site, so I have to pick you up in the village (10 minutes round trip).
Please give me a precise and respected meeting time, even if it means YOU arriving a little early rather than making ME wait for hours :-)
- All outsiders are strictly forbidden (even your friends or family, except with my prior exceptional agreement).
Only people with a valid reservation are allowed on the site.
- No smoking outside your tent
- No fires or barbecues (except in exceptional circumstances in winter).
- Don't leave any garbage on site, even temporarily, as the wind sometimes blows it away (garbage cans available on request at each pitch, to be emptied outside the site).
- Please avoid using the access road to the site more than 2 times a day by motorized vehicle.
You can get in and out as often as you like by electric or manual bike.
- No noisy motorized entry or exit between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. to preserve residents' peace and quiet.
- Pets allowed under the responsibility of their owners (beware of barking, as people are often there to rest their minds).
- Naturism authorized, to be specified at the time of booking for the respect and comfort of everyone, I will set you back a little from the other holidaymakers.
- Children are welcome, but the environment is dangerous (ground full of stumps and vegetation that can be prickly or scratchy).
Children remain the sole responsibility of their parents.
- Please let me know the size of your vehicle if it is large, so that I can check that it can access the site, and the size of your tent, so that I can offer you a suitable pitch...
Why limit return trips to the site?
As a general rule, to avoid obstructing and damaging the communal road, it is advisable to avoid making several return trips a day. Please try to get in and out once a day each.
Thank you in advance for respecting these rules, which will enable the site to survive and improve day by day...
Otherwise I'll have to stop renting out pitches as we'll be annoyed by the local environment...
We're in an uninhabitable and protected area, so let's avoid upsetting people who might get in our way...
The meeting point for your arrival will undoubtedly be the typical village bar called LA ESPERA.
It's on the main street with all the village shops.
A large parking lot awaits you at the bottom of this street, opposite the kindergarten behind the church.
Looking forward to meeting you ;-)
François
