Campspace Hartekind is something very special. A green patch of earth, creatively and comfortably designed. In good weather, you could stay here forever!
Unfortunately we weren't so lucky with the weather, but I hope we'll be back!
The sanitary facilities are simple, but perfectly adequate. Our pitch on a meadow without neighbors was beautiful, the birds chirped all day and the baby cats came to visit us in the evening :)

How was the contact with the host?
Jan is a very open, friendly host. He showed us our place as soon as we arrived, as well as the entire area, toilets and showers. On the second evening we bought a wheelbarrow full of wood from him for a nice evening campfire.

Tips for new guests?
If you are looking for an enchanted place away from the marked campsites and pitches and do not value luxury but rather untouched nature, this is the place for you!

Excellent place for our brother sister getaway to catch up together by the campfire.

How was the contact with the host?
Relaxed and interested owner. We were warmly welcomed with a drink, as compensation for the faulty shower. We also ordered wood and we got more than enough.

Tips for new guests?
Covered open-air 'living room' offers extra seating options in rainy weather. Simple, but good breakfast available for an extra charge. The shower facility provided is outdoors. Electricity via 'normal' plug. Bring a flashlight to go to the toilet at night.

Hello brother and sister. You have "dared" to visit our "spot" in late autumn. Good to hear you gave birth. Perhaps this joint outing tastes like more in the future... thank you also for the review. We try to provide a pleasant environment for our guests. Sometimes basic with a twist. That's our charm. For the coming year, some adjustments are planned to the outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen and lighting/electricity.

Last weekend we stayed at Jan and Thea's beautiful campspace. They have a really nice spot in North Limburg. We set up our trailer tent under a beautiful tree and could enjoy the birds and squirrels in the garden. When it rains, you can sit comfortably under a large shelter. There are books and magazines and you can make coffee and tea. This campspace has two toilets and a simple (camping) shower; fine for a weekend. You can enjoy walking and cycling in the area, so it's really an ideal base!

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Jan was quick and smooth. We immediately received some nice hiking tips, when we told them that we are avid hikers. Also during the stay the contact was very easy and nice. I can heartily recommend Jan and Thea as hosts!

Tips for new guests?

Again a nice place to get away from it all. A large beautiful garden with sufficient privacy and everything you could wish for for simple camping. Including a campfire place and spacious roof, furnished as a cozy living room, ideal for just relaxing or for emergencies in case of bad weather.
After a short tour by host Jan, we got some tips about the area. Where for a nature lover like me there is plenty to do. Because although the national parks such as the Groote Peel and the Maasduinen are relatively close by, it is already nice to be closer to nature. For example, I really enjoyed a lovely walk through the Schadijkse forests, less than 3 km from the Campspace. A beautiful varied landscape with both forests and heathland, where, among other things, the sheep graze around freely, and I was lucky enough to spot big game… yes, a field mouse :slightly_smiling_face: In these same forests there are also 2 mountain bike routes, here I am myself unfortunately did not arrive.
Regarding spotting big game, I had more luck with my walk through nature reserve De Mariapeel, although I was surprised by the many closed hiking trails due to the breeding season (keep this in mind from March 15 to July 15), you can still enjoy fantastic walks here. And the party was complete when for the first time in my life in the Netherlands (as far as I can remember) I was allowed to spot a deer with a young in the wild, very magical. A little later I was also surprised with 3 other (quite young) deer! As well as that I was surprised by the hospitality of the staff of one of the terraces in Griendtsveen. Where I made a stopover, they very kindly offered me a lift because of the bad weather. By the way, kindly declined, because a little rain wouldn't hurt me. In short, I enjoyed myself again.
